I'd like to fit a set of highway pegs to the front frame for a bit of a stretch on long rides. There seems to be a suitable spot on the frame up front. Has anyone fitted pegs there?
Photos? recommendations? pros/cons..?
Thanks,

I have a set that I occasionally clamp on my engine guards. I don't like the look of them on the Eli, but do put them on during a long trip.

Hey guys,
bringing back an old post. After all the riding the past weekend, I noticed I could've used some way of stretching my legs for just a bit (my back just isn't what it used to be - I hate getting old - hahaha - had another steroid injection today - ugh) and started looking for highway pegs. This is not something I would leave on the bike permanently so something fairly cheap would do. Those Kuryakyn's are nice but man are they expensive. Any pics of pegs that you guys have used? I've searched around on this site and others, just wanted to get some more opinions on what works good and what doesn't. Thanks. Later.

I would like to have some too for the ZL1000 just for those long ass rides. I do know that you would need some offsets too

I was thinking of one of these in the following links. The way they are made, you could grab a bit of hardware if needed and mod them to fit about anyway you want. I would be using a piece of rubber inside the clamp to avoid scratching up the paint on the framework anyway. The square bar between the clamp and peg could be easily extended with something similar from the local hardware store. Just an idea. Later.

Jarney, stay away from the one's in the first link that you posted. They will slip and turn on you. The second one's may be better but I'm not sure. Do you have crash bars on your bike, I don't remember? If you do I would get some that fasten with a billit style clamp. Give me a call if you want a picture of mine.

Mine has some, 1/4" plates were made up to fit the motor mount holes and bent in 2 places to bring the pegs out 2". The motor toasts the inside of the leg a bit but they are liveable and provide options for positioning on long rides.
The pegs arent shiney any more but worked well with the pull back (apehanger) bars on the 1k and the tassles are only on the throw I cover her up with!:rotf:

Thanks for the pics and info guys. I'm really looking for something easy to install and remove - just for long trips occassionally. My body/health/age won't let me be the die-hard I still want to be - hahaha. Keep posting pics like that Kawboy and I'm just liable to have the first ever lazy-boy-goldwing-iminator - hahaha. Later.

Thanks,
I'd have thought wheelie bars might be more appropriate! :hello2:

If theres one bike that doesn't need wheelie bars, its the Eliminator.

Actually! I,m having trouble keeping one of mine down right now. Seems that with some added HP and a sticky rear tire she wants to point skyward when I roll full on from a low crawl or when tryin to launch.
