I managed to get the old zl sort of back together in time for a 55 degree warm spurt today and went for a very short trip around a few blocks to see what was going to fall off of it or blow up. I'll double check tomorrow but, I think it's fairly buttoned up. Here's a pic taken on my phone from around the corner I thought might look neat - too bad I'm not a better photographer..... hahaha.

Jarney - kinda looks like you might need some mud grips on that ZL :laughing7:

I got out for a spin today too. When I went to wake up the ZL,she put up quite a fight.Once I got it fired,it didn't run to bad.Went a mile or 2 with the choke on then she was ready to roll.I guess I shouldn't complain,it had been 3 full months since I had it started.I think the raider has me spoiled,I just turned the key ,and pushed the button and it fired right off.Fuel Injection is pretty cool.It was pretty nice here almost 60 out.I put about 10miles on each bike.If the rain holds out I might have to fire up the camaro tomorrow. Its always a bear to start after its winter nap too.

I didn't go for a ride yesterday as maybe I should have seeing the temps where around 50. I did decide to ride to work last night with the forecast saying 30% chance of precipitation and maybe snow, low temperature aroung 32. When I left work at 6am today it was close to 32 and raining with sleet on the ground. Most of the highways were clear but wet. Random ice patches here and there. Needless to say I made the wrong choice in not riding yesterday afternoon.

Well, I spoke too soon of course. Parked the bike after my "Little spin", glanced at it the next day to see the dreaded drop of oil behind the kickstand. Looks like the water pump seals have gone. Unfortunately Wuputt is not set up yet to do the pumps, so I'll have to start searching out the parts and somebody with a press around here to try and get it fixed up again. Later.
