Took it to my son's house about 100 miles away for the "summer", in the back of the pickup. It was snowing in Rhinelander, WI all day, but just sort of spitting and not staying on the ground. Hopefully, he will take care of it. It is in sort of a junk strewn garage, I think I am more worried about his room mates banging into it with stuff cause that is how guys are about things that aren't theirs. I had quite a bit of business to take care of while I was there, along with visiting a few people. Also got to put an eyeball on the buddies new Ural. Cool looking bike, he says it really attracts the attention everywhere he goes.

When I got home my wife asked if I was gonna miss it as she knows it is sort of my favorite. Then she sort of shocked me and said why don't you find another one...........I knew there was some reason I married that girl!

So, I will keep my eye out for one, think I can get rid of one of the Magnas though I really don't want to.

One other thing, as I was hauling the bike in the truck bed and looking in my rear view mirror, I noticed that the Kawasaki Emblem cover over the front brake splitter is gone. I do remember last summer riding and something hit my foot and I thought it was chrome, but might have been a bird or road debris. Anyway, stopped and looked and didn't see anything missing, but now I suspect that is what it was. Can't believe I didn't notice till now, but it wasn't laying in the truck bed, so either way it is gone.

Is that part available? I can't seem to find the right parts fiche page. I'm sure it is a small fortune either way, factory or FLeabay. Somebody point me to the right page, please! Also, how does that attach, just pressed on? I don't see anything that looks like it would hold it on. Thanks,

Yeah, I hear ya. I had plans to line them all up outside and take one nice picture, but one is already gone. Lost one, need one, wife's approval given. Maybe I will show her a picture of a ZRX, I would like to have one of those in green to be the bad boy with all the black bikes. Also have a Honda Blackbird on my wish list.

I try to keep them all running, and I do let other people ride my bikes. The only one off limits really is the wife's Shadow. Cause if something happened to it I would never hear the end of it. I'm a little picky about who I make an offer to, but if you have ridden a 750 or bigger, I'm usually pretty agreeable. I guess I figure they are to ride and not be a museum piece. So far anyway. I gave a bike to a guy for the weekend, and a couple to different guys for the day. The weekend dude was a truck driver that runs a long nosed Pete to New York all the time, and was thinking about a Harley. I told him before you do that, take this for a ride. I don't think he ever did buy a bike, that I know of. He said his wife wouldn't get back on it after the first ride, but he rode it a couple of time after that. We get a bunch of guys from church together for rides, and I usually have a couple of bikes in the mix.

I have them all started and running except the 83 v65. That battery is in my 84 project, along with the front fork brace. I'm trying to justify buying a stupid $70.00 battery, and $64.00 fork brace. Plus I need to register and plate it now that I know that it runs right. Everything costs money, but I see there is some tax credit for new motorcycles in the new stimulus bill. See the IMS home page.

p.s. that one I slipped in there is a John Deere tractor.

If the 900 had a cover over the brake splitter, I don't remember it. I thought the 1000's splitter was black w/ a cover and the 900's splitter was just chrome.

Mine too.

There was 2 900s for sale in Free Port(west of rockford)$3000 for the pair.If I remember right they both ran,and one of them was pretty nice.
Just a little food for thought.

Possibly I am wrong, isn't there something on the front of the bike that says Kawasaki? yes, the splitter is chrome.

Maybe I am thinking of the 454 LTD, I have been working on that lately. That would be cool if I was dreaming of things that are missing.........

Ok, well that is a relief. I spent most of the 100 miles looking at the front of the bike in the rear view mirror telling myself there is something missing there.

I just walked out and looked at the 454 and it does have a little chromed plastic cover with Kawasaki on it. So, now I can sleep a little better tonight.

Thanks guys!:laughing7:
