does anyone know if the forks from an 86 zl will fit the 96 zl it's just the chrome forks i need dont wanna spend money on em if no good to me ?
any help will earn a beer if ye anna come collect it :headbang:

Sorry but they show different part numbers for the "a" models vs the "b" models. They might fit but if you can't return them I wouldn't buy them

cheers bud i'll pop over to local bike shop tomorrow just to make sure the things are 100 each new oh well suppose i could kill wife for the insurance money he he ,oh well i'll try new seals first then the bikes been garaged for almost 9 yr maybe the seals have just perished.

forgot to ask where did you find part numbers i cant find a manual anywhere ?

Manuals are in the download section of this site. For part numbers you can go to various sites and look at the "Parts Fiche" - places like Bike Bandit or Ron Ayers or Babbits or parts depot. Later.

The forks should fit but I'm not 100% sure. the big difference would be with the brake rotor. they are on different sides between the model years. You would have to see if you could adapt a brake line if you wanna stop.

i don't need the part for the brake callipers etc it's just the fork tubes that the fork seals go on. whats brakes ?

Your brake caliper bolts to the lower forktube.The zl9 tubes are set up for dual disc brakes.(Might not matter)

oh well the muppet sold the forks to someone else . some people are just not reliable are they ?
