I have recently purchased an ex stolen-recovered Kawasaki Eliminator 125 Cruiser.

I am currently in the process of having it re-registered as from what I can see, the VIN Plate has either been removed or the number has been ground off, and the Registration plates have been removed and disposed of.

Besdies the Headstock in terms of the location of a VIN Number, does anyone else have any idea where else another VIN Number or other distinguishing marks for this motorcycle would be to help me identify the bike easily. in terms of age, this will also prove a problem as without knowing this, the bike with have to be registered in the UK under a "Q" plate which could potentially give me problems obtaining insurance for the vehicle.

I have managed to locate what I believe is an Engine Number which is on the top of the Engine mounted in the Chasis, this is KH1 R 001. Would this mean anything to anyone in terms of helping me to identify my motorcycle a little more?

It's a great bike which with a litte work will be great to get on the road again, just a shame to see it stood up currently after going through the torment of being stolen and since recovered and left in a very sorry state. I am keen to get it back on the road asap and back to its former glory.

Many thanks

Good luck with your new bike
Call your state DMV and ask what all is needed to have a new title issued,

Welcome Steve!

Sorry man but we don't get much action in the BN section of the site. I really don't have a clue on where else you might find the VIN on the frame. Check in at the Beartooth Kawasaki site forum (http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/index.php)and see what they have to say. If you do find please follow through and update this thread so future BN members can benefit from it! Good luck!!
