View Full Version : Can I put a gas tank from a 900 on a 1000

I need to replace the tank on my 1000 but they are hard to find. Can I put a tank from a 900 on?

The usual mod is to go the other way to get an increased fuel capacity.
I dont see why it would not work with a little fiddling.
The ZL1k has a horizontal tab that bolts to the frame and the ZL9 has a vertical tab that bolts to the frame (both right at the back of the tank).
Apparently the front mounts are nearly identical - so should not pose any problems.

Yeah, plus the 900 tank only holds 1/2 gallon :laughing7:
