Hi all,
I only have a Ninja 900 manual, not the supplement.
Bike won't turn over, no clicking at relay, have power thru the ign switch and the run/stop switch, but no incoming voltage at the starter button. What other elec components are in the circuit between the run/stop switch and the starter switch that I need to test? My Ninja manual shows that the starter button follows immediately after, but such is not the case on my ZL900 as the wire from the run button goes back down under the gas tank.
Any help or a copy of the starter circuit schematic would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

hey try this:
To test the nuetral switch and the starter lockout switch(clutch switch) use a 12v test light. Clip the test light to the battery positive(+) and probe the #12 pin(Y/G wire)on the 18 pin connector at the Junction Box with the pointed end of the test light. At this point the light should light with the bike in nuetral. Put into gear and the light will go out. Pull the clutch lever and the light will light back up. This here is what grounds the Starter Circuit Relay in the junction box. Now to see if the Starter Circuit Relay is getting power to the Starter Relay(solenoid). Clip the end of the 12v test light to the battery negative(-) and probe the (Y/R)wire on the 2 pin connector at the Starter Relay(solenoid). Turn the Ignition Switch key on, the kill switch on, and while pressing the starter button the test light will light. This will tell you the Main 30a fuse, the Ignition Switch, the Starter Button, and the Starter Circuit Relay is getting power to the Starter Relay (solenoid). Now one more thing to verify is the Starter Relay(solenoid) is grounded. Clip the test light onto the battery positive(+) and probe the 2 pin connector with the (BK/Y) wire at the Starter Relay(solennoid) and the test light will light if the frame ground or wire is properly connected. <!-- / message --><!-- attachments -->
