This is a poll to try and get a consensus on the zl-oa t-shirt design...
Now we all know that you cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time, so let me know as best you can within the confines of this poll, and offer feedback as possible, the sooner we get all this straightened out, the sooner we will have our spiffy new zl-oa t-shirts!

The shirts will be black with white printing, at least at first.

Thanks, ElimiNation!!!

with the "Bad news..........." on the back.

I was thinking maybe a jersey or something later with screen names...The cost would be higher for that than for a regular t-shirt with the same graphic on each, as for the cost it would be $15.00 usd per shirt and this includes shipping within the US, it would be slightly higher for those overseas due to shipping costs (I'm thinking maybe $17-$20 usd), I will be figuring out what people want from the poll and doing a new design later in the week, and will be readyto start taking orders by next weekend, if all goes well...I will keep everyone up to date!

So.....
The polls are showing that perhaps it should be something like this...Went with the 'Impact' font and the 'Eliminator' script inside the outline.
also just one small www.zl-oa.com (http://www.zl-oa.com) on the back at the top....Sorry the pics are so bad, again, quick cellphone shots.
Please let me know.
I think they will be very classy and yet make a definate statement, all over the world!

I will be putting 'By Kawasaki' under the front logo in the 'Impact' font on the final product.

I had that front kawasaki as my second choice. I do happen to like what Moab did with the back, though. The front is perfect...just needs the kawasaki word in there.

I'm wondering if anyone else thinks the 'bad news travels fast'
is a bit too large on the back?
I think it makes the shirt, its just so big.

I really like the front, especially with the 'by kawasaki'.

Here's what I'm picturing.....

On the front:
ZL-OA.COM all caps or preferably a copy of the outline I use in the site header (i have) small placed on the left breast

The back:
Kawasaki across the top done with correct kawasaki red lettering found on www.kawasaki.com (http://www.kawasaki.com) then the zl900 silhouette with the "Eliminator" script in it lowered from what I have seen.

I'm not taking credit for that image, I think it was Rick_in_WA's, but I just thought I'd throw it in for argument's sake.

I still have all the concept images from when we were deciding on the final layout for the patches, including all the "Eliminator" and zl-oa.com script's, fonts, bike images (ZL900 & ZL1000), "Kawasaki" OEM script, plus heaps more concept designs for stickers, etc, that everyone here had forwarded for consideration.

If anyone wants those images to get their creative juices flowing, they are welcome to use them.

I've had some dealings with doing baseball hats with my local bike club that I'm a member of.

http://www.hotkey.net.au/~mattakana/ulysses/scchat_front.jpghttp://www.hotkey.net.au/~mattakana/ulysses/scchat_back.jpg

I get them embroidered, they don't cost much, once the initial setup fee's are paid for, then the cost per hat comes down fairly quickly, usually around the $25.00AUD mark.

Don Fonzarelli
06-03-2009, 04:14 AM
Cool,
if they come in a fitted size 7 3/8 I'm a happy biker. :headbang:

Stormy
06-03-2009, 04:46 AM
I know fitted sizes are all the rage, but they are difficult to get hold of, especially for such a small lot purchase (under 100 items is small), plus it put's the price per item up considerably, usually it's a "one size fit's all", asian made, adjustable velcro or buckle strap.

But I'm not going to do anything like organising these to be made, as the initial cost of setting it all up, plus I'll have to bear the brunt of the manufacturing cost's until people start paying, not to mention additional shipping costs to the U.S, Europe or wherever, is just a bit too much for my finances to bear at present, as I'm between work contracts, again...

I have to leave this sort of thing to more financially secure members to organise, at present...

As far as Stormy's 3 diff renderings, I personally feel for the front, that the the least amount of writing under the bike siloette the better. The very first post you had with the flames is the best one for me. Attractive and simple. The 3rd pic with all the writing would be best suited for the back in my opinion. Just my 2 cents.
BTW, those hats are awesome.

Guys,

You are doing great with the T-shirt design. Keep it up. I like the ZL-OA on the front and the flames on the zl in the bike on the back. Keep it simple.

Stormy,
I like the hat idea. I like the emblem on the last one, but loose the flames. It reminds me of that sissy Jeff Gordan's Rainbow Warrior. Please do not get me started on why I dislike Gordan!!!! That is for another thread....

Jarney
06-03-2009, 05:48 PM
Yeah, dejavu.....again.....

This is where these types of threads always go - too many ideas and too hard to get a definite design and agreement on everything. I like the flame design as well, some of Stormy's hats looked good also. These polls could go on forever with more and more ideas popping up all the time. Maybe another poll should be started - Put the different designs in some sort of order - 1st run of shirts would be the best one listed in the poll options above. The 2nd run of shirts would be the best of the flame designs. The 3rd run could be hats, etc,etc,etc,etc............It's just an idea. Otherwise we may never come to enough of an agreement to actually get this thing done - it will wind up like all the other "shirt threads" in the past and just die off or never happen. Later.

Sorry about throwing more spanners in the works guys and especially moab, with newer members since we got the patches made, I thought I'd show the designs from then, but as usual, I screwed things up with too many choices.

When deciding on a final design, it's a bit like a kid in a toy shop, way too many choices and not enough cash.

Maybe a competition to settle on the final design rather than just another poll, as you'll be constantly chasing a better design, maybe someone outside of zl-oa to judge, like someone's partner or riding buddy. And everyone must agree that the decision is final, no what if's or maybe's.

This was the reason why SD and I went ahead on our own and got the patches made, 'cause it would have taken forever to reach a final decision.

just my 2 cents worth...

As far as I am concerned, it is Moabs choice because he is the one stepping out and doing the work and taking the risk. Everyone has an opinion and there have been a lot of good ideas but it might be impossible to incorporate everyones idea into one t shirt. Anyway it doesn't have to be juat one T shirt. It could be a series of T shirts. Dont let the perfect be the enemy of the good is all I am saying.

yep, I concur with you guys, it's up to moab what he thinks is the best design, I'll definately go along with it, I'll even buy a couple of shirts too !!!

I would like to make one additional suggestion though, I'd prefer a round neck, long sleeved, fleecy top version (smooth cotton outside, and polar type, fleecy material on the inside, we call them "sweat shirts" or "sloppy joe's" or "windcheaters" here in Oz) .

I ride in all seasons here in Oz and I usually wear a fleecy top under my riding jacket or carry one with me rolled up in the saddlebags when riding, and I probably speak for the U.K / European guys as well, when I say 90% of my bike riding is done in less than ideal conditions, usually cold, early mornings and late afternoons, to and from work or at night.

T-shirts would still be good, but having the fleecy top as an additional option would be even better.

FLAMES or NO FLAMES???
That seems to be the question...I came up with the design that I did becuse it was simple and noone seemed to want to step up to the plate, so to speak....I like the flame design, but, we need to crap or get off the pot here, summer is fading fast and by the time I try to please everyone it's gonna be next summer, and still everyone will not be happy....I thank those that acknowleged the fact that I am taking my time on this deal, but, I do want these to sell, and I want people to like them, the opinions of EVERYONE on this site are very important to me....I will do 1 more poll, for 1 week, and the winner is the winner...
Do keep in mind that the "flame" design will cost slightly more due to multiple colors being used, but I don't think it will be prohibitive by any means.
I will get this poll setup as my schedule allows, I am in a long streak at work, but I'll probably get it up by the end of the weekend, the poll again will be for 1 week only and the winner is the winner, love it or lump it.

I did say it was gonna be Pandora's Box didn't I???
