I will soon be installing a big bore kit on my zl9. the cylinders have new sleves and have been honed to accept the bigger pistions.
my questions are .. is there a break in required, do I need to treat the cylinder walls with a break in lube? any other details that may be helpfull would be appreciated.

No need for any lube on the cylinder walls, plain old oil will do.
In regards to breaking it in, now thats a whole religion in itself, some say start it up, let it get hot and ride the crap out of it, and some take it nice and slow.
Have a look at this:

I use tranny fluid to lube the cyclinders. It burns off quicker than motor oil and seats the rings faster. If you use motor oil use a lighter weight(10-30 or 10-40)I used assembly lube once(in my younger years)It is very tough to get the rings to seal.I had to squirt oil in the cylinders to get a seal so it would start.
