I know this has been covered before, but I will ask...

Right before I got real sick I took the 900 out...When I went to first take off I pulled in front brake....nada...No brake....I drove it that day like that (not far)....Come to find out, the sight glass is ultra deteriorated and leaking...I had heard of epoxying a dime in, etc...

Opinions??

I don't care about being able to see in..A nice neat seal and look is all I need....and while I am at it, I may as well do the other one (clutch) because it is a ZL, it will leak eventually and that could leave me stranded..

So

Just wondering what you all have done??

Had the same thing happen to me, but it was the clutch master and did epoxy a nickel on the outside of the sight glass because a dime seemed a bit too small. Anyway it held for about 8 months and then started leaking. Kawtipper had sold me an extra MC that he had so I was kind of playing with house money. After the nickel came loose I took a similar size round piece of rubber and attached it with some Permatex black silicone adhesive sealer and that is still holding, much to my surprise.

Willy, I did the dime thing. The clear part and the metal ring around it comes out. Best I remember the dime fits right in the hole. Seems like I put 2 in there so it fits flush.

I may just do that...Did you grind the dime face off? Paint it?

Nickels in the airbox air suction hole, dimes in the master sight glass holes.....These bikes will literally nickel and dime you to death :laughing7:

I painted my nickel black so it would match the MC, I hope that I am not looking at some time in the old gray bar hotel.
