Well my city is having its annual celebration and since I have to work anway I intend to enter my bike in the car/bike show again if possible. And I thoroughly expect it will be a sea of Hardley's vs. me and I will lose to every single HD entered...even the rat bikes. Those of you that kn ow me know my bike is a VERY Clean example of the ZL900. Anyhow I want to write something up 1page that may educate the fuktards that call themselves judges. I have something typed up, feel free to change stuff. Give me ideas, even embellish a little. No one will know. It has to be short as I am dealing with inbreds and reetards. As few 3 syllable words as possible and no spelling srrors (Did I spell recconed right). We have till Sat morning to give this living document its life. Looks like it might be a bit...Hey how do I submit a word doc? If I have too I can retype it as its not long. Copy and paste below...So how many do you guys think are still on the road...this was a SWAG.http://www.zl-oa.com/forums/picture.php?pictureid=25&albumid=7&dl=1214503973&thumb=1 (http://www.zl-oa.com/forums/album.php?albumid=7&pictureid=25)

1985 Kawasaki ZL900 Eliminator
<DIV align=center><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.zl-oa.com/forums/ /><o:p></o:p></DIV><P> </P><P><FONT face=The Eliminator was introduced for one thing and one thing only…Acceleration. It was designed and built as a drag bike. From its weight forward build to the anti-squat rear suspension, the bike can be launched extremely hard and still keep the front on the ground. This translates to forward momentum. It was intimidating in its day, and even by todays standard is still a motorcycle to be recconed with. In the stoplight wars few can stand with it.<o:p></o:p>
0-50 mph-2.2 seconds<o:p></o:p>
It was only produced for 2 years as production numbers were low. It is estimated there is only about 1500 of these bikes left on the street in the world.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
This is a rare original unmolested survivor right down to the3 layered red paint with 15 clicks on the clock.<o:p></o:p>

well put !!! as long as you are educating people, you may also want to include the reason it was produced only 2 years is because it was one of the first bikes to make the insurance blacklist set back in 80's because of it's high performance !!:headbang:

Also you gotta mention that of all the power cruisers it's the only one with a I4. And that todays power cruisers don't stand a chance

Maybe this??
Also you gotta mention that of all the power cruisers it's the only one with a I4. And after 25 years , with the exception of the $17,000 Vmax, todays power cruisers have yet to beat the Eliminators acceleration

Jay, as I see things your problem will be as to what class they will enter you in. As I have been to several bike shows and they always put me in the cruiser class. Dunno why as this bike to me is not a cruiser. Last year when Paul and myself rode to the Philly area for a show they did not even have Kawasaki listed as one of the production bikes. How's that for respect?

What's with the paint job? Original unmolested? I believe you, but this is news to me. So.........how did that come to be? I was under the impression that you could get them in any color you wanted, as long as it was black or red.

You want to include the original press release too? That would be good show material

Was it not also built in the U.S.A. (Lincoln, NE)?
So you could say built with pride in America!!!
They did that to get around the high terif taxes on large cc bikes (to help Harley stay in business).

:rotf:getting that way around these parts too ! the youngs kids ride crotch rockets, & it seems everyone else is riding harley's. that really sucks about your bike coming in last place. i have seen you zl in person, & i know it is show quality !!!! how quickly harley riders forget that most of them started out on a nicely built japanese bike ! ohh well, let the ignorant bastards ride their over priced, under powered, crap sounding road oilers, & we'll be the smart one's ! :headbang: CHRIS
BTW, you guys may have seen my post about trading my Trans Am for a bike. some guy came over yesterday on a harley, & asked if i would take it on trade. i just laughed my ass off, & said, look at my tattoo, & look in my garage, you'll see your answer !!!!

The last show I will ever be in, three bikes in the vintage class. My immaculate 1986 Honda V65, bone stock to the core and looking like it came off the showroom floor. A Yamaha Maxim, the top of the tank was almost void of paint, and a 1974 Harley Sportser that was about as ratty as it could possible be. This was just a little, sort of impromptu show at a nom bike specific rally. I won't even bother to mention which bike won, they only gave first place so I don't know if I got last or not. My ZL9 is about the same shape as my V65 but I expect the results would have been the same.
I'm glad I didn't put the prep time in that you did, not worth bothering with a bike sho any place HD is involved.
Yes, the sheeple around Milwaukee are an interesting bunch. I have had people walk by me at a gas stop and actually look the other way as they went by so they didn't have to acknowledge me I guess. Tomahawk WI is also harley country, they do all the fiberglass there I believe.
