Ok guys, so one of our members from way up north is coming down to pick up a bike here at my place soon. I know it's short notice but if anyone wants to come out for a day or weekend, come on out. Tmdoth will be here on the 28th of this month and is planning on heading back up north on the 29th. Anyone is welcome to come out. Later.

Man, this ZL1k of mine just don't wanna' make the trip!! After a corroded petcock deposited a piece in my carbs that lodged in one of the idle ports, I rebuilt it and changed out the carbs. Then, my water pump started dripping oil so it's down till I get a new one! If the weather holds out, I'll ride my "hybrid" ZL9. If it's raining, I'll be in my truck! Regardless, I'll see you guys there...........Mark

Yo Bro LL, If your pump kit didn't arrive, then tell me, pretty sure it did or you would have said something. 555 I'm GETTING old and don't remember yesterday. 555 Things are kinda crazy in my house right now but at least my family is fine and with me, you can't kill bad grass and I have to be the biggest weed around.

I promised the last kit I have to Skyjack and will ship to him soon but I can order more if anyone needs one or more. Just like I said to Skyjack, I can't get the same price if I only order a couple of kits.

How about I wish you luck in the lottery instead? No small wishes, think big!

Not the greatest weather for riding, but crossing my fingers fer ya. Was mulling this idea over, but 450 miles of cold, maybe wet weather is too much for me. I'm a fair weather riding wuss.

Everyone made it here safe, ZLMark almost made it here without any bad weather but got caught in some rain just before he got here. Rained off and on the rest of the night. Furchin gave us a ring while we were eating that evening and told us to keep ZLMark out of the bars - we failed miserably - hahaha. But we did manage to keep him from calling Furchin back in the middle of the night just to wake him up and say hi - hahaha. Just kidding. Today was pretty nice though. Went for a short ride before everyone took off. Everyone has headed back home now.

Unfortunately we spent most of our time trying to help get paperwork taken care and straightened out for Tmdoth so he could take his ZL back home to Canada with him. We didn't have much luck, there is quite a bit more to it than any of us knew. So, Tmdoth ended up heading back up to Canada until something can be sorted out.

Even with all the running around, phone calls, searching, etc., still had a great time meeting up with Tmdoth and his friend Mike, ZLMark, his girlfriend and Markus56 too.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics. Later.

Man what great ride! that is a good 6.5 hr ride for me even if I do take the interstate for the first 110mi. I'd like to be able to leave early and ride out there without having to worry about getting caught in the rain for once! I could easily make a 9-10 hr trip out of it. Logged another 600mi on the zl1000 these past 2 days, i'm gonna take the wheels off and hide them from myself!

The bike performed flawlessly and the new pingel is like a fine piece of machinery! Nice and smooth lever action and very nice fit and finish. I go to reserve at 130 to 140 miles with the refill being less than 3.9 gallons. I stretched it a bit once and had 167 miles to the tank and refilled with 4.6 gallons.

Finally some nice roads to test the Shinko's and fork braces out on. Even with the girl on the back, and the loaded down luggage rack I managed to almost scrape the pegs, something I would have never attempted with the stock tires and no fork brace. I finally installed the fork brace on the zl1000 and it really does do as advertised. It's really a must have for our bikes!

Richard it was great to finally meet you, looking forward to meeting again maybe this winter? Too bad the border guards are **** heads, would have liked to see you go home with what you came for. If you stop to see Lowlife, please protect your buddy Mike from him. :rotf:
We all stayed in hotels and who would have thought we would have needed reservations!! We got lucky and grabbed the last 2 rooms of the 3 hotels there.
It was good to see you again Jared and Mark. Looking forward to the next one!! Gotta be real soon!!

Made it back a little after 5 o'clock but only had about a hundred and fifty miles one way to travel so it was right around the corner for me. Would've rather ridden the whole way but maybe the weather will cooperate with us more on the next meeting. You're welcome on the Moto caps Jared....Glad you guys liked them! Yep........you're "Southern Boys" now! Paul, Martin, Chris, Greg, Gremlin, ect.....We need to call a maintenance weekend at Marks' place to fix his Zl9 so he can give his "baby" a rest:laughing7:!! I really enjoyed our ride Saturday morning and look forward to when we get to do it again!!!!!!

Glad yall had a good time! I wouldn't expect any less knowing most of ya!
Mark, did ya have to wait out the rain under the same tree we did? 555
TM, that sucks bout the paperwork nightmare! Now you have an excuse to make the trip again! Next time, stop in for a Minn. visit!

If the bike runs wouldnt it be easyer to ride it accross as a registered vehicle from the US and then do the transfer in canada? Would mean a zl-oa ride to canada that could be interesting?

That is what I've heard of other people doing with cars and trucks.

That was the problem, not only is the bike a non-runner, but it doesn't have the proper paper work to be road legal here in the states. That's what we were trying to get sorted out this past weekend. DMV's are horrible places to do business with. It may take a bit to get the paperwork sorted out, but I'm sure it'll get done and Tmdoth will have another zl back home in his stable. Later.

No just bitching that it has been in the states longer than Thailand, Andrew finally got them to me...now they will sit on my bike seat for another year or two...
