For you guys who like the dragbar look as I do. Here is a link to the same seller and bars I bought on Ebay this past winter. Check out my album for the look. With the fork brace and these bars the handling is so much better on my ZL1.

Thanks guys....Slippery, those look like the exact bars that are on jarney's 1K...I had a set made to model those bars....
I like the look of the 900...always did...The 1K bone stock doesn't super visually do it for me but after riding Mark's at M/O in 08 and getting mine last November, I love the way ir rides/drives...Since my 1K was all stock except for the handlegrips I grappled with changing anything...Had this been a low mileage bike that I was gonna ride on occasion I would have left it alone, but I would rather make it mine and do some mods that deviate from stock and yet not so much that it can't be turned back to stock in an afternoon..
In this past spring I rode to jarney's with the stock bars...I noticed the angle that it had my wrists was uncomfortable compared to the 9...Jarney's 1K had bars exactly like the ones slippery showed...I immediately liked them and had my set made...I like those bars and the angles and feel of them, but I would still like to be lower and make the bike visually look lower...I looked close at wuputts 1K at M/O this year and he has stock 900 bars on his and the progressive shocks...I sat on his and was like "yep...that'll do her"...hence all the changes....
We shall see when she is all back together...There are other thngs I would like to change too, but...

These look exactly like Jarney's zl1000 bars. I hope I don't have to use them and if I don't I may put them on the zl900?

zlMark

The plan is to try to straighten them. I don't think I'll find good used ones

It can be done Mark. I did it to the bars on my 600. Need a big frigin bar for leverage and some heat but they will bend back.

One thing to remember with the T bars...They will block some vision of the lights on the instrument cluster. The stock bars are open in the middle and you can see everything good. The T bars kinda restrict your vision of the neutral light. I had kind of a hard time with the positioning of the brake and clutch lines against the risers and had to rotate them a bit to clear them...I like them, but I like my current bars better. I prefer the riding position of the 900 and I like the bars to be straighter. Those T bars are probably a 15 degree angle. I had mine made and had them put at a 10 degree so they are straighter (but my current bars are identical to the 900 bars)....
When I rode my 1K to jarney's last spring (bout 200 miles), the angle of the stockers bothered my wrists. The ones I had made were a little better for that.

i agree ! but i preffer drag bars without risers, & stock handle bars . i know people are worried about the bars hitting tank, but it does not take much effort to extend the steering stops. just my opinion, & i think it looks better ! CHRIS

Jarney, I would love to see the picsup close and from the riding position if you could. Thanks.

In the "search" function at the top of the page here, type in "bars" and it will bring it up...Go to the second page and I have a post "new bars, mirrors, levers"....There are a few pics on there...That is my 1K with those bars on...These were made for me with specs from Jarney's bars...One main difference is the angle of the pull back on the ends...Jarney's were 15 degrees. I had these made at 10 degrees....I no longer have these on the bike...I still have them if anyone is interested. They are black powder coated....

WillyD's pics are good ones, link is below to his pics - same bars really. The bars clamp down fine as long as you follow the torque procedure. They originally were slipping on me - when first trying to get the bike running I was goosing the gas running up and down the driveway and with my weight pulling on them, they would slip just a bit. Once they were torqued to spec it was fine - had no problems with them after riding it a bit. Snug all four bolts up first, then torque the top 2 first, then the bottom so there is a clamping effect on the bars.

Here are the bars....These are black powder coated...I had them made per all the measuerments I got from Jarney...His bars have a 15 degree bend at the bar ends...I had these made at 10 degrees to make the bars a little straighter...The two up-tubes and the center of the top bar going across are 1" tubing....The bar ends and the lower bar that mounts in the triples are 7/8" tube....I had them custom made and powder coated by "Rock's Chops" in Evansville, IN....I paid a total of $165.00 for them....Billy I will sell them to you, shipped to your door for $50....
The pics Jarney pasted for me in the post are these powdercoated bars on my 1K....The last pic is my 1K as it sits now with the 900 bars and other mods..

thought you said 20 bks for bars, not 30 bks to ship to rockford il. not being a smart ass just wondering. if you want to call 815-713-5174. woukd like to have the bars
WillyD

No it's not gonna cost $30 to ship them...however I am gonna ship the Fedex and not the post office...I don't trust the post office...I work for Fedex and they can be tracked and make sure you get them...After I looked them over again and remembered what I paid for them I guess I should have asked for more...Even with my discount it is probably gonna cost close to $20 to ship them...They will be boxed up well and protected.
How about $40 total....again man I am taking a loss on them. They were on the bike for maybe 2 months. If you get them and don't think they are what you want you can ship them back to me for your money back...
