Hi!
I'm looking to get a friend saddle bags for his Kawasaki Eliminator. Not exactly sure of the make/model, but I've heard that saddle bags are hard to fit on this bike.
Can anyone make a recommendation for the best brand / size for a saddle bag for this bike? Is there a saddle bag made for this type of bike, or a brand / size that works best? I've seen a saddle bag bracket online - would it be best to use a bracket instead of the plain frame of the bike to attach the bags?
Thanks for your help!! I'm not a biker myself - just trying to get a good present for a friend!

I believe it's a 900 - but not 100%.
Are the models very different, or are there modifications to a saddle bag that works on one, that would make it work on another?
Sorry I'm not very knowledgeable about motorcycles - is there any kind of saddle-bag bracket that would make it easier to fit a saddle bag?
Thanks so much for your help and recommendations!

Read this thread,, it's a long one!

You will have to custom make brackets for the zl900 to keep them off the shocks. the zl1000 had saddlebags made specifically for them "Hein Gericke" as seen on the second page of this ad from 1987

Hi Takidora, welcome to zl-oa! Whereabouts are you? States, europe, elsewhere?
You're right, the 9 is a bit akward to fit saddlebags to but not impossible. The standoff brackets are the tricky bit. Its likely you'll find all the info you need in the saddlebag thread Mark has offered above, so I wont start repeating here.
Nice gesture to get your buddy some bags for his nine!!!
