In your opinion who makes the most desireable brake pads?

This is an excellent question! I was just thinking that last night, actually, because I don't know, either.
Thanks, Bacchus!

Sorry, I have not had to change brake pads but a couple of times and I've always just used EBC so I don't know which I would prefer or what might be best or work better. I've not had any complaints about the EBC's but there may be something better out there. I hate to vote since I have no experience with other brands. Later.

jarney (and others) the question was worded to gain insight as to what people want rather than to find out who makes the best.... that's why "whatever is cheap" is an option.
If you dont know which pad is best that's fine... Just trying to find out what people prefer, so if you've only used brand x pads.... you should vote for that unless you would prefer another brand... and if you are not sure which is better ...dont worry about it... vote for what the pads that you would like to have or try..

I see what you are saying and trying to do Bacchus. But it's hard to do a comparison on something like brakes and clutches since it takes a long time to wear them down. Unless you have 2 bikes to do testing on at the same time. I really don't know what I would prefer since I don't know how other brake pads or clutches perform. If I knew there was something better than the EBC's, that would get my vote. Since I don't know, I'll vote for EBC. Later.

Kotex....Wait....I bought Vesrah's, they were reasonably priced, but not the cheapies.
What an appropriate topic! I just changed the front & rear pads this morning and I used OEM (Tokico) that I found on e-bay for a sweet price. The bike has 25,000 miles & I do not know the brake history but the front pads wore evenly and were OEM (Tokico). The rear pads were EBC and I wouldn’t use them. They were GG pads, which I have not researched yet, but they were crumbling apart. I know that EBC has other pads (HH) that should be much better but I would stay away from the GG model.

Don't have an opinion....I try to use the top of the line in whoever's line. I suspect there are only a few abrasive mfg's anyway. Though its not common I have had more problems shucking pads from bad glue than anything else...though I suspect it may be heat related.

Bacchus the pads I like to run are medium compound= meaning they wont eat the rotors away too fast.
I have been told and will be trying a set of gulfer Green as these are supposed to work very well and yet not chew up the rotor like some of the more agressive pads.

that picture is typical of western us roads.... straight.. smooth.. no whare for cops to hide.... ZL heaven
Only pads I've ever used are the OEM Tokico pads and EBC pads. I can be short about EBC pads - they're crap. They literally destroyed my disks while the pads themselves hardly wore down. After this, I never bothered to try another make of pads.
Back to Tokico pads and new disks (€€€) and all was well again. :-)
