I wonder what the true mileage is! Waiting for response from seller, I didn't mention why I was asking :laughing7: Let him figure it out himself.

He wants to know why I say the mileage isn't correct, so I told him. He needs to add unknown mileage to his ebay ad!

BUSTED! You can look at that bike and tell it needs about 20,000 added to that speedo!

Now that he's been told about it he needs to disclose in his eBay ad that the mileage is UNKNOWN!
What are the chances the winner ends up here and finds out the hard way? Pretty good I bet!

Doesnt something happen if you buy something that is not as described. Like ebay and PayPal refunding money. Hmmmmm, anybody need a bike cheep? Buy it, report it and get a 1000 back from him to settle!
Can't believe I'm thinking like this, lol! It happens guys!

Here is the latest text he added to his eBay ad:
I have had a few people ask about the mileage on this bike. To the best of my knowledge, the mileage is correct. I have no reason to believe any different. We are selling a motorcycle that runs well, and rides well but please understand that is no warranty, as is, like any dealer would sell a used vehicle. We are NOT dealers however!!!
He has no reason to believe any different? He has been told why and chose not to believe it! So I sent him a link to my pic of my zl1000 and also to this thread. I hate to see someone get stuck with a bike with unknown mileage unless it's a good price! $2000 for that one even with 7800mi is a far stretch IMHO

Hey Guys...new to this site, and agree. The bike on ebay from TN is pretty rough. Looks like it's been left in a barn for years. Part bike I'm thinking....

looks like he had a few bikes around and took parts off them.difff mirrors, mod rear fender, missing horn covers, swing arm caps, fork caps, 900 speedo, aftermarket seat cover and the front fender looks bent (does'nt look right).:no-no-no:

It only gets better. I get the feeling since the person he bought it from didn't tell him the bike had a ZL900 speedo and therefore didn't display the correct miles he feels he shouldn't have to. But he knows, we know he knows! here's his latest comment on the eBay ad:
Once again I am posting a comment to be sure that bidders understand that I am disclosing all info I know about this bike. We have owned it for a little over a year, have had no problems with it. It is a good running bike. Rode it yesterday and almost changed my mind about selling it. If you have questions, just ask.....I can only tell you what I know.
He's like a kid with his hands over his ears yelling bla, bla, bla, bla :laughing7:

He will have it nice and warmed up for you before you get there seeing how the choke cable is hanging out the side of it. Uhhhh, I didn't realize it but you have to push this slide right here in order to crank it. Lmao!
Trying to be honest and tell you what I know!!!, blah blah blah! What a ragged out piece of... That zl has been dragged down the road every bit of those 7000 miles. Ruined a nice set of trapps , acid stains on one side rash on the other.....

7,000mi more like 40,000mi
It could be saved. Take lots of time and money. I would bet that you could buy the universal trapps and have them welded onto the good front section. Be worth doing since they cone with the bike. Get rid of that kz tail light and replace it with one of bacchus' R1 LED's. Polish, paint, clean, fix. Oh and put the right speedo on it!

he's prob pissed now that it was pointed out, now he knows he got taken from former owner. that's if what he's saying is true. the speedo and trapps prob came off the 900, and the motor might've been swapped also (choke cable not attached).

For those who dont know how -
At the very bottom of the e-bay add there is a link to report item
then it will ask for a reason you will pick vehicle misrepresentation form the drop down menue
then for detailed reason you will pick odometer misrepresentation from the second drop down menue.

eBay won't do anything, they are 95% on the side of the sellers, because that is where they make their money, they could care less if that speedo is fake. Watch, the auction will finish, somebody will get taken, and nobody except us and seller will know any different.

when you ask questions to the seller don't they stay in the question section on the thread? i'm going to comment on it being the wrong speedo and maybe he can't erase. the section prob already full from zl members. lol.:icon_twisted:

Well then all we can do is hope the buyer finds us and is willing to take legal action once they find out he knew before the sale that its not accurate milage. If I had the cash I would buy it and then have him arrested for it just for being a **** head!

I sent him pics yesterday of a 900 speedo and a 1000 speedo and got no response. I also reported him to ebay. I agree with Texas, they won't do **** most likely. I gotta remember to keep this thread for the new owner to see. chances are he will be here sooner or later, I would bet on sooner seeing the condition it's in

Here is the latest.... I told him I would buy the super traps and this is his response...
Really dont want to change anything out on the bike. We are researching this bike a little more (about the speedo, mileage, etc.) so I am pulling it from the auction. Ebay wont let me change the mileage info and I can make another comment about it, but afraid someone wont see it. Thanks for the info.

I sent him a message Saturday telling him the jig was up, everybody and his brother knew the speedo was not original, and he'd better pull it off eBay before somebody buys it, gets ripped off, comes here (like most new ZL owners do), finds out he KNEW about the discrepency, and get's sued. He simply replied "thanks", and now the auction is ended. Sounds like he's doing the right thing, although it took a little convincing!!! :headbang:

I sent him a message "The misrepresentation of actual milage is a criminal offense! You have been notified that the odometer is not the actual one for the bike and to sell it without confirming this is punishable by law! I will be watching and alert the winner of the auction as to thier legal rights on the matter once your sale is complete!
Have a Nice Day!"
His reply was "Do not threaten me."
I wasnt threatening him just letting him know what was going to happen.

One person questioning the milage is or would be one thing. But when you have 10 people inform you that the milage is or cant be correct due to the speedo being the wrong one for the bike you should at least look into it and update your add to make certain the buyer knows. This guy just wanted to pass it off as low miles because he thought he would get more for it.! Weather or not he knew beforehand or even if he did the speedo switch himself really dosnt matter. His attempt at ignoring the subject and keeping the listing as it was shows his arogance and greed. Not someone I would want to do any buisness with.
