I'm in the process of putting pod filters on my ZL600. When I removed the surge tank there was a hose that connected it to the crank case. Can I just plug that or do I need to find some kind of filter for it? I don't want anything getting down in there that isn't supposed to be there.
Thanks,
Rod

I've fitted a filter on it since I thought it was the crankcase breather? Only cost £2 off ebay.

yea i thought i be tricky and route the breather with a rubber hose up under the seat next to the battery. And i'll be damned if that hose didn't develop a kink! Pushed oil right out the o-rings in the valve cover, filling my sparkplug holes. This is was just after my winter maint.    8O

Is that just on the 600's?, if not, what should I not do while tearing my 900 apart???

right under the aribox there is a little 90 elbow that connects the airbox to the crankcase vent. All i have now is a little chrome filter attached to the crankcase vent stub. If i get time i'll get a pic for ya.

OHHHHHH, I C, I'm not even removing my airbox, so no sweat, but I do appreciate the help, and if I do go (even more...according to my lovely wife) crazy I will know what not to do, because I thought she was going to shoot me when I put the ZL in my basement for the winter, all because I don't have a flippin' garage... You shoulda seen it, 5 guys trying to lower an obstinate Eliminator down a set of stairs, backwards, I gotta be out of my everlovin mind!!!

We...as a group...have got to be INSANE!!!That being said, I love these bikes, they are the coolest thing ever to have wheels, I am trying hard to strip weight off of this pig so I can get it out easier, plus it would be faster, and we all want that, HEY, maybe if we lined up all of the Eliminators in a giant line and all launched at once, we could change the rotation of the planet? Just a CRAZY thought...I get alot of them!!!

Look on the bright side, the theives may get the TV, but I doubt they'll go to the trouble of hauling a bike up a set of stairs!!

You're a funny man Charlie Brown. I'll take pics of just how much is upstairs. I won't have as much trouble getting mine down stairs though.
