Long time I know...

I want to apologize for everything that has happened over the past year with Kera and all. I'm not going to sit here and try to make any excuses...

Is Kera a viable entity? This is what the community needs to decide. I in no way want to detract from what Mark is doing here. He filled a need that I failed to fill. (Great job btw, just be careful using Nuke :) ) I established Kera initially for the eli community. I failed to keep it up, some serious problems happened, and now it's in a complete state of disarray.

Let me know guys and gals. I will be around more often now.

Howdy Boss, long time no see! You have a great site with a hell of a DB goin. It would be a shame to see it go, but then again it's a shame to see it the way it is. Yeah I know, time and money. Right now it's money stopping me from getting a dedicated space for this site so this friggin software will work properly! Nothing wrong with having multiple sites for our bike right?

Trust me, i feel the pain with nuke. Kera was originally setup using nuke as the basis, and ultimately caused the downfall of the original. Try retrieving all the info from nuke and reincorporating it into other things!

I decided to go another route after the site was hacked left, right and sideways! Nuke is a great piece of software but like all open source, community developed items it has some issues.

I think we can co-exist, I just don't want to community to get diluted like it did in the past either. We had a lot of info being missed...

Great to hear you are still alive Boss.
Really miss KERA as it once was. Mark has a great start here and I think that if the two of ya get together there could be fantastic results! Keep moving in the right direction and all will be well!

Hiya Ethan ...

Great to see you're alive and well ... certainly had a few of us worried that you were okay that's for sure. It's been a scary time ... unable to contact you, the site been heavily spammed .. OMG the world was coming to an end!! 8O

I for one would very much like to see this KERA continue!! :) I DO NOT see KERA and ZLOA being in "competition at all. I'd like to think of the two sites as "mirrors" sure each with their own uniqueness BUT that they also act as a degree of insurance that if one or other gets hit in any way .. the other is there as a backup :D

ZLOA just happened to pop up around the time KERA was becoming almost unusable due to the spammers etc. But .. and it's a very big but, there isnt and won't be for a long time yet, anywhere near the info here .. that's available on KERA ... still!!

Even after "The Big Hack" ... there is still heaps of excellent info to be found on KERA!! (Ohhhhhh, I pray the search facility comes back up again soon)

I can't begin to tell ya how much help KERA has been to me in the 2 and a bit years since I got my 1st Eli. Sure .. a lot of that help came from the members on this KERA ... but if it hadn't been for KERA, how/where would I have found these guys and been able to access the helpful info they've all posted?

It's been sad to see how KERA has gone since the big hack and then more recently the spammers. I miss the Garage section and especially the search facility. I would love to see KERA get back up to it's former glory.

I definitely think there is room for both this site and KERA. The two can most definitely co-exist!!! From my point of view .. on the odd occasion where KERA was unaccessible for whatever reason .. there was nowhere else to go to even maintain contact with the guys from here.

The fact that ZLOA now co-exists with KERA means no matter what happens, it is very unlikely BOTH sites would be down at the same time.

Anyways, it's great to have ya back .. I hope KERA continues to grow, coz I ain't going anywhere while the site remains :D :D

Where there once was one there are now two and many thanks to BOTH of you guys!!!

Cheers mate ....

Well said Roscoe! Great to hear from you again Boss!! I think the two sites compliment each other very well also. It is a great insurance policy, and we're all friends here anyway, right?
Later,
SS

Two heads are always better. 2 sites can exist. Look at the others that went by the wayside.

It is a comfort to know that there is a community interested in the little ol' ELI. Info is the key to those who bought it used for a good price and needed to get it running like a top.

The web is big enough for the 2 of you.
