Hey Gang,

I am new to the forum. The website looks very slick. I will be visiting regularly.

I drive a ZL 900. I bought it new in 1985. It is always a blast to drive. I reside in the Chicago land area.

I would love to install 17" wheels for my ZL. I have tried to get a set from Georg Deget but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone here know where to get a set of those in the U.S.?

I also have a complete GSXR USD fork set up with matching 17" wheels. Does anyone know of someone who can modify the 17" GSXR rear wheel to fit the rear ZL hub?

Thanks

-Fern

The website is
http://www.deget.de/

i sendet email to
info@deget.de

and Rainer Deget answered from
deget-honda@t-online.de

there is a pictures of my bike in the gallery, front is widened to 3,5*18" and rear 6*17"

I think you can not get them in the USA, but they will send wheels all over the world, i bought wheels from ebay at Canada and the seller sended them to Deget and Deget send them then to me.

Thanks for the quick replies, guys.

Lumi,

Your ZL looks awesome with those 17" wheels. I wish I could get a set. I tried getting in contact with Georg Deget, but no avail.

Rick,

I have not installed the GSXR front end on my ZL. I was originally going to install it on my Suzuki GS1150. I would rather install it on my ZL, if I can find someone to modify the rear GSXR wheel to fit. It would be a great winter project. Here is a pic:

Changing tyres to ZR rated is the best improvement you can made to thes old bikes 8)
i use 120/70 18" Pirelli Diablo Strada on front and 180/55 17" Diablo Corsa on back, it wont slip anymore

I wanted to keep the original look on my eli thats why i choosed the Deget wheels

In my opinion all the USD forks looks too modern to these bikes

You can call to Deget they all speak "good englis" phone number +49 223 577 111

Mean Streak rear is a bolt-on `cept for the cali bracket needing
to be extended,I suspect that other Vulcan wheels would also
fit.
How about Concours wheels, the S-arm is Eli.
It should fit although it`s not all that wide.

And my M/S USD front end looks just fine on my ZL1200R,
there`s a crowd around that bike everywhere I park it.

Mach IV,

Your bike looks very slick with the M/S wheels, nice job.

I already have the GSXR front end and wheels. I would hate to reinvest in a new set up.

Thanks for the input, though.

Have both stems pressed out and the ZL stem pressed into the
Suzi lowers, you may need to have a bushing
made and pressed in to take up the
space left as I would believe the Suzi stem is fatter like the M/S.
Make sure you have the length correct and you can use the ZL
bearings.
This is what I had to mod for the M/S frontend to fit.

I was checkin out a Vulcan wreck last week and noticed
the spokies it had looked like they would fit also.
Kaw tends to use parts on many diff. models to keep costs down.
I think the spoked rims would look sweet on an Eli.
