How much free-play/slop does the average eli have at the shift lever?, mine seems real sloppy and I was wondering if I could just rebuild it useing clevises bought local, or are these some "special" Kawasaki Item?
I know my tranny is solid, I just "feel" there is an abundance of slop at the lever.

Mine doesn't have alot of 'slop' but there is some play...1/4 in. or so at the lever, I guess...Were I you, I would tighten it up a bit...
Hope this helps...

The pinch bolt had loosened a bit on mine when I got it, a turn of the wrench fixed it. You may want to try that first, if it doesn't help you're in line for a tranny case bushing, though I doubt it.

'Tis the awesome thunder of the ZL which refuses to be harnessed by mere threaded fasteners! Better know as a loose bolt.
