It's only 730 miles for me (only) and it looks as though it may work out...I will need to find a way to get there and tow the bike, but, I am working on it... :D

It`s also around 730 mi.one way for me`bout 10 to 11 hours
driving time.

I will of course continue my tradition of providing a grill and food, so you all can at least save some bucks that way. I wish that I had room at my house for you all, but with 3 kids and the old lady....
I will try to organize a nice ride for us though, not like last year when I had to work every night!

Yeah I will be there also, about 730 mile drive for me too it usually varies between 11 to 14 hour trip depending on traffic or if your trans. decides to drop 4th and 5th gear right as your entering chicago lol try doing 45-50mph with barriors on both sides of the road and triffic doing 85-90mph. lol not very fun i got to do that last summer going up to mid-ohio made for a good 19 hour trip with no sleep. So anyway i should have a bike this year so i can accually have fun on the ride that wuputt's HOPEFULLY arranging. LOL

Yes Rick your right i will more than likely get it just not sure how much lower in price i would be able to snag it for.. lol hes only asking $800 for it got some more info. on it its just getting better the more i hear about it... Its a red 96 zl900 with under 10,000 miles on it not sure exactly but in really good condition just needs a rear tire, handle grips and carbs need to be put on and he is the first and only owner the guy is a trucker so he has no more time for it.

Well your prolly going to be alot better off than I was... 600.00 for mine, and it was missing ton of crap. been very badly neglected from sitting, so far this site has proven to be a wealth of info, and help.....great group of folks here. and if a question cant be answered someone will search untill it can be.

Sorry I haven't been on here as much time as I'd like to lately, work has been interfering with my social schedule somethin cruel lately... lol.

Anyway, looks like I'm going to be over in Adelphi MD around that time by the look of my schedule, I hope to have a few days over the weekend to come visit you boys... maybe even indulge in a beer or two...
I'm trying to figure out the distances but i'm not so good with US states... I got a zip code for the event location at 44904-0108 but it's coming up as Mansfield, is the event not on in Lexington then?
6.5 hrs drive from DC to Ohio, 404 miles according to MapQuest..... is this a reasonable estimated time on road?

I'm all set & ready for Mid-Ohio next weekend. This will be my first year attending, & I'm looking forward to seeing you all there ! I will be trailering my bike down, with the intentions of bringing another home for Dad (Marty). Just wondering if i should leave my truck, & trailer at the hotel, & ride to the track, or, if i should bring them to the track as well ! ? Any suggestions in this matter ? thanks, CHRIS

Bustin` my ass getting the bus ready,1st a brake line then the front
cali bleeders were frozen and the pads were worn so a pair of reman
loaded calis went on.
I go to fill the master and notice the belt tentioner is NFG.
Replace that and snap the overflow fitting off the top of the rad.
with my elbow while tightening tentioner bolts.
I notice rat **** in the airbox on the WRONG side of the filter.
I find an vacuum box on the side of the intake tube(I think it`s got
something to do w/the turbo) has the top blown off,I remember a
backfire before I went to Tx,so I figure that`s what happened to it.
I plastic weld it and then go over that with JB weld.
I start looking for the nest and find the little bastards have chewed
holes in some of the turbo hoses.
Hoses will be here mon,I`ll be cutting it close.
Wondering what`s next.
Going over it today to see what turns up.

O.K. heres the deal, I spoke to Mederskey out at the museum. If we get 25 guys to c'mon down to the museum. Non A.M.A members can get in for $7.50 and members can get in for $5.00. We should be able to get at least enough people to ride down and check it out regardless of the number, it would only be a matter of a few bucks if we don't meet the 25 pp quota.

Last year I trailered my bike up there and for cars, trucks and trailers they have you park in a large field by the gate. Just unload your bike there and you can ride all over the rest of the park. And if you want to wonder around on foot, just leave your bike with where Mach parks his rig and the guys can keep an eye on it.

Anybody coming through Indiana on thier way to the VMD? Won't know if I can make it or not Saturday until Friday evening. Just in case, anyone from Ohio got any recommendations on the route to take to get there? You know - construction zones to avoid, where the cops hide, places/roads to avoid, any laws to watch out for that out of staters may not have - like helmet laws, mirrors, turn signals, speed limits, etc. ? Just any advice you can throw out there? You can go to the mid ohio website and check out the facility map and get a good idea of where the gates/parking/restrooms/concessions/track/etc are and how they are laid out. www.midohio.com I think that's the url. As VMD approaches, I find strange noises eminating from my chest....Is it the long awaited, and much anticipated (at least by those that have met me) heart attack????NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
It is my heart breaking, as I have had a chance to meet 2 fellow zl-oa members just today, both lowlife and wuputt were here today (not at the same time however), and I gotta say that these are 2 of the nicest guys I have ever met....And lowlife was kind enough to bring his UBER clean ZL900 over....Listen up, ElimiNation.....WE WILL GET TOGETHER NEXT YEAR AT VMD!!!!!!!
If these 2 guys are any indication, we have the best people on this site EVER!!!

I spent 2 years on KERA and watched the threads come and go for mid-ohio. This year has been the first of actually meeting someone(wuputt) and I gotta tell you I'm glad to have met him. We talk on a regular basis and I look forward to shooting the bull yet again this weekend. Since Jeff(wuputt) and I have met we have met up with 2 other members Rod(rbonner) and Chris in toledo. It's great to meet up with fellow members who share the same passion for motorcycling and ride the same style bike. I wish to meet each and every one of you someday.

Naturally there will be lots of pics involved and hopefully some video. we'll keep ya posted if we can find a puter somewhere.

I'm ready, rain or shine, just greased the bearing on the trailer and put on new tires. Started the bike to make sure it runs so first thing in the morning, I'll load up the truck and go. It only takes me about an hour or so to get there. I'll be looking for the other ZL's once I unload the bike.

hey wuputt, mark, & machIV,

worked on dad's red zl this morning, & found out that the oil level was low enough to keep the clutch from working. i drained all the oil, flushed the engine, changed the filter, & put fresh oil in.

dad came out to see the progress, & wanted to take her for a spin. i warned him that the clutch is not working, & to be careful. dad started it in gear, then pulled in on the clutch, & that was enough to get oil in the clutch plates. it works great !!!! we both rode it up, & down the steet for about 10 minutes, she runs like a dream !!!!!! dad has a smile from ear to ear ! i'm getting ready to work on the float bowls tonight . dad says thanks again !

by the way, i left my 2 chairs at the track, i hope wuputt, or machIV picked them up ! i'm looking for a reason to to come visit soon !
my friend jason, is still talking about this weekend, & wants to tell wuputt that he may come back down this coming weekend . CHRIS

I gotta say. I'm truly amazed at the turnout we had this year. I had a great time meeting and chatting with all of you. Thanks to MachIV for hooking us up with the club space and rooms. wuputt for bringing the grill, food, and beer, Chris and his trailer for storing my bike and driving my drunk ass around. Furchin for coming out and sharing a room. Jarney come out with some donations for the site! Thanks! Rammy and his girl for showing up, glad to meet you!. KrayZ1 wish you could have stayed a little longer and pounded some beers with us! Jason, we were glad to have you around! What a great bunch of guys!

I also entered the zl900 in for a few parade laps! I promise next year we will do some better videos. I was all ready to video the zl1200r and 2 zl1000's when it started raining.
