Wish I could pop over to give you an extra hand with that airbox as I've heard they are a pain in the butt to get in. Someone wrote something about making the connectors loose but forget who it was. Will do a search to see.
Good luck,
SD

I would love to do that. but heck I still need help with mine. I cant get the damn airbox on! the thing is making me crazyWhats the deal? I've done mine 2 different ways. The hard way; push the boots into the airbox and then try to get them out after the carbs are in. The easy (easier) way: have air box and boots in place, unbolted and slid back as far as it will go force carbs into place by folding the airbox boots. be very careful not to rip or tear your carb holders(intakes) The softer the air box boots are the better! I disconnect my throttle cables from the grip and pull some slack towards the carbs. then hook them up to carbs when the carbs are halfway in, sliding the carbs in from the right side of bike. pulling the slack out of the cables as i go. kneeled down on the left of the bike, propped on a 2x6 under the kickstand. sorry gotta go to work, lol

The two times I've had my carbs off I left the airbox in its place other than loosening up the bolts and that of the coolant resv and pull the airbox as far back as I could. Then when I put the carbs back in I tilt the front of the carbs down and get the back of the carbs started in the airbox boots and as I turn the carbs up they pop right back into the airbox boots, then I slide the carbs forward into the engine side boots. WD-40 on the boots makes the process a whole lot easier to slide.
