Here is how to fix the red x in your gallery!
While in your album click on Edit Album in the left pane.
Click on Album tab
Scroll down to the area that says "Apply Settings to existing Albums" and check all 6 check boxes
Scroll down and click on Save
Next window click "Continue...."
Thats all! All this does is regenerates the thumbnails and default image sizes.
