has anyone done something like this before?

I need to get my carbs off, stripped, cleaned and re-fitted. But the Air box to carb rubbers are pretty hard and dont really flex/bend, so i am assuming it will be niegh on impossible to get the carbs back on.

In light of this i am contemplating putting on some pods. I assume now i will have to re-jet the carbs? i've never done something like this before, but it cant be rocket science, right?

can anyone give me some helpful advice about this whole process. is going stage three worth it? or should i stick with stage one? however i would rather run the risk of running more rich rather than lean. so the bigger the jet the better?

Any input appreciated guys!

dont know about the rejet & pods process, but you can try taking a hair dryer to heat up the airbox boots. it will make them flexible for a few minutes, then they harden up again. i have done this on a few bikes, & it has worked out ! just a suggestion ! CHRIS

It's definately not rocket science.....I figured out how to do it on my 900...Just ask questions cuz there are some uber-smart people in the ElimiNation.

BTW...Do not do the Stage 3 unless you are doing pipes as well, The bigger the jet is NOT better because you will run too rich and lose alot of performance, besides....Fuel prices....

thanks for the hair dryer tip!

my bike currently has some gpz600 pipes on, dont know how much of a difference there is between them and the stock but i would assume it would not be much as the gpz600 engine is pretty much the same as the zl600 engine. its just the K&N site says if you're running stage one you should have stock or K&N oem style air filter. not pods/K&N individual filters. so i am assuming stage one with pods would most probably run the engine too lean, no?
