Engine Case Guards

I bought a set of these 1 piece Engine Case Guards from Stedee-Enterprises for the zl1000. Thought I would share my experience.

These are made by one of our members GAZL900 and sold on eBay. The quality is top-notch with a nice satin black powder coat. They do require a little patience and alot of care when mounting as they are one piece and a snug fit. I had to buy new cap bolts from Lowe's 8x60x1.25 to replace the too short stock ones. The plastic radiator shroud will have to come off and I mounted 1 side at a time starting with the right side (easy side). Took about 1/2hr once I figured out how to mount them.

I have a 2 piece on my zl900 and they aren't as nice as these. Stedee-Enterprises plans on making another run of these so if you are interested post it up here. Maybe he will make up a chrome set too!

I think I paid around $90 plus shipping,, he lowered the price towards the end. I'll PM him to see when he is doing another run.

Do they look like the stock guards.I might be interested in some chrome ones.I have the stockers on mine but one side has a pretty good scrape in it.(I guess they did there job at some point)If the price was right I would replace them.

I bought mine with the idea that I was going to mount highway pegs on them. I have been rethinking that idea only because i don't want to scratch up the powdercoating on them. But it should work quite nicely.
