Well gents I'm off to my 15th or so Rush concert, can't remember the exact number due to extracurricular activities during some of these concerts in my younger years. I do know it is at 15 however.
I have loved these guys from the get go, some of the best musicians in their respective fields, A many times removed published author writing their lyrics and a work ethic and dedication to their fans second to none. I have seen well over 100 famous bands, but htis one is the only one I have seen more than once. They are not a visual band, but are tight and accurate onstage.
Alex has finally come out onstage, the last couple of times I have seen him he has actually seemed like he was having fun on stage. He was always so serious. Maybe that brawl he got into with his son (same side) in a bar lightened him up. He plays the same chords as everyone else he just does it differently, and usually better.
Geddy with his quick wit and ability to connect with the audience has softened some as well. He is still one of the finest bass players in the world as well as an accomplished keyboardist that insists on doing everything himself.
The Professor... well if you have never witnessed a Neil Peart (not pronounced pert) drum solo well..... Beg borrow or steal an R30 DVD as you WILL be amazed. At over 50 years old this man IMHO is second to none.
the critics have panned this band, they have always hated them and Rolling Stone has done their best to keep them out of the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Despite their individual and group acdcomplishments. they are rated #5 of all time Gold and Platinum albums sold and are # 75 in total record sales in the US. Well gotta get cleaned up and go...RUSH RUSH RUSH
