Motor Swap??

Hello,

I posted on the "Parts Wanted" section for a 1987 ZL 1000 complete motor but may be looking into additional options.

Ideally, I would like to find the 1000 motor but wanted to know if a ZL 900 motor would fit my application.

What modifications would be necessary to fit a ZL900 motor?

Motor Swap............

Hi.
The ZL1000 and ZL900 Motor's will fit both ways. I have try it myself.
A little attention about the carburator head-& inlet boot's. Boot's have to fit the respective Carbs, CV32 for 900, and CV34 for 1000.

The Kawasaki ZRX 1100 Carbs will fit the ZL1000 boot's as well, even it's CV36.

If anyone has the Zedder Kawasaki Spare-Part Cross-Reference Program, and they are after a kawasaki paint color code, open the program and hit the "Help" button, in the drop-down menu is a color chart listing with all the colors codes that are coded into the VIN number on the bike and the name of the color.
