Bike Master True Jel battery

Thanks for the info on the gel cells. Seems like the clear way to go. As for DieHards, I can't tell for the life of me who makes them now. They have been the longest lasting and most powerful on the market for decades, and the same batt has been sold under at least 100 diff names. So being savvy can lead to some big savings.

Right now the only place that I'm fairly confident still sells the Johnson Control/Globe Union product is Walmart. Since the battery arm of the business was sold to some other weird company I've never heard of, JC/GU batts may be crap quality now. I'm thinking the days of lasting 10 years and starting below zero without fail are probably over.

One thing I've noticed about the DieHard now that AdvanceAuto sells them is the price has been jacked up an absurd amount and they push them endlessly. If I had 2 bucks for every offer I've received via email to purchase one, well, they'd probably owe me a free one by now. That said, guess what? That same old HD, last nearly forever batt, is still available at Wallyworld for under a hundred bucks.....I think. At least last I looked maybe 6 mos back, they sure looked like GU batts.
