Which bulb?

My headlight bulb went out , should I replace it with a 60/55w like the manual says? I was hoping to put in a brighter bulb but I didn't know if the electrical system on our bikes would handle the newer bulbs. Thanks
 
Can't answer your question, however, i've ridden with other bikes, and behind my wife in her car, and all have mentioned to me how big and bright my headlight is. Each time, i had it on "bright", as i usually do during the day. FWIW
 
I run a 100/90w in my bike, (through a 12v mini relay), nice and bright on low beam and excellent on high beam. The guy in the shop where I bought it said his only thought was that because it was basically designed for car/truck use I might have probs with the bulb failing due to excessive vibration being in a bike. Have had no probs at all, it's been in the bike for 10 months now. So far it's been fine.

I run an H-4 replacement in the 130/90 watt output. Have had it in for almost two years and no problem. Even keep it on high beam at night and have yet to get flipped by approaching traffic. Furchin
 
I Run a HID 100/90, Had it in 3 Years with No Probs, Low Beam is Good, High will set the Bugs ON FIRE before they Hit the Glass 8O , Later Rocky :twisted:
 
Hey guys,
this may be in the wrong section but here goes. I was just curious if someone could give some recommendations on brand names, types or places to buy a good set of carb sync guages. I've always used the old mercury sticks and never liked using it. I no longer have any mercury and don't want to mess with it anymore. A buddy brought his vmax out to have his carbs looked at and I think they just need synced and tuned up a little. Anyway, any advice on the guages or types of measuring devices for syncing carbs that you all prefer or brand names that do or don't work or what you like to use the best , etc. Any info is appreciated before I shell out the cash for something. I haven't used one yet but have seen it in action, nice tool and good service to the USA. venture riders are ordering the crap out of them.

BTW i have a motion pro merc type in my garage. I wished i would have spent more and bought the morgan carbtune now.

thanks for the info. That Carbtune looks pretty nice. I especially like the packaging of the unit itself - not as bulky or awkward looking as a set of guages. The Colortune looks pretty cool too. they make it sound like with those two items you could really dial a bike in good.

I like the plastic tank bottle. I need to find something similiar.

We have a member here that bought the colortune recently, can't remember who it was to find out how it worked. :pale:
 
I bought the vaccuum gauges ones from JC Whitney, but didn't dampen them the first time and screwed up two of the gauges, but since I had them more than 90 days couldn't return them. So I bought two from Harbor freight and make sure the dampening screws are just slightly turned out when starting.
