Buddy of mine rides a 1400 cc yammi, hes been pestering me for some time now. I have ridden with him a few times we are friends but he talks more smack than even me, ( I can back it up though). He had been screwing with me all damn day, finally we went around a corner and he was revving it, "I'm sick of this" he canned it first so he got the reaction time on me, I was kinda ready as I figured this was the corner as everything fit, Si i was sitting at 6-7 k rpm. He hadn't gone 30 yards when I had to get in my brake as we were passing some others in our group and i was breathing down his tail pipe. He gets by the traffic and never let off. I got on the brake and had to reload. Almost b4 he completed the pass i pulled up beside him cracked the throttle a few times and blew his friggin doors in, he KNEW he was beat when even his reaction time couldn't save his a$$. Hes tried this several times with me. He takes a 100 run at me and passes me from behind, i usually let him go but got a little tired of the game, so this time I played. He won't play again i guarantee it. At the next stop he didn't say a thing, he didn't have too. Guess I won't be hearing much about how when I park beside him he can see the kawasaki shaking from being scared on his yamaha. Might be something along the lines of "I parked beside you cuz its as close as you will ever get if I want it that way" or "Better go clean up the mess under your bike it made after I pulled up, think I scared the pissout of it". Just thought you might want to know :dancingfool:

Also the baby ninja got 90 MPG ! Not a typo, I said 90

I would not be worried about any cruser on the 900. I had a lil run with my buddy on his 636 Ninja couldent come handy to me but on the same note I know he would of got me top end. Down low not a chance.

its pretty well known in these parts the eli 900 runs about 2.88 0-60, but anyone care know what other bikes do? the hayabusa and zx-14, for example, run similar numbers, like 2.8-2.9 ish. while they kill up top, down low at legal speeds thats pretty damn good company to have perfomance wise. i've read hundreds of 0-60 bike stats and the only clear 0-60 winner is a cbr 954 at about 2.65ish. cruisers? forget about it. lucky to get in the fours usually. a QUICK 600cc rocket is still usually in the low three's

I know my old 636 Ninja was about 3.4s 0-60. I managed to easily beat a ZL750 off the lights with it, but then again, the rider did weigh about 45lbs more than me.

He has had some motor work done to this bike, so all I ever heard about was how a 900 could never beat a 1400, especially a 22 year old. Don't get me wrong he is a good friend, and most of it was smack but every once in a while you got the feeling that he actually thought it was true.Can't wait to hear the excuses on monday ,IF HE BRINGS IT UP AT ALL.I might have to comment that maybe he should have spent less money on chrome and more on performance goodies.

Also almost didn't make the ride as there was a dog in the road coming around a corner. I hit the the horn and blew a fuse. Took out the fuse for the horn and tach, I was worried about the charging system, didn't matter as there was a spare fuse. Disconnected the horns for now until I can get back to the system with the fluke.

Harley chrome wanna be , god I hate those things, they are black and chrome and all look the same. Went to a run earlier this year and was lost looking for the guys I ride with. The bikes all looked the same. I used to like the look till it boiled down to cruiser, rocket, or touring. those are you choices today. No offense to anyone having one of those, cuz i do believe that its not what you ride but THAT you ride, its just I miss the styling of the 80's rice grinders.

I was just down by you last weekend touring the river valley and one of the guys has a Yam Road Star. It looked like a Harley Softtail Classic, just cheaper.
