highway pegs

has anyone put highway pegs on their eli? i am thinking of trying a set. i picked up a set cheap i trying to design brackets for them. any thoughts?? :D
 
My ZL 1000 has pegs on it. I am gonna remove them this winter. The mounts are too short so my legs rest on the sides of the motor, tends to get a bit warm after a few miles. Worst part is the fool that mounted the pegs drilled holes in the frame to keep them from turning, I really want to get them welded up. Good luck with your mount, hope you like them better than I.

I dont know about you guys but I have never liked any other type of motorcycle.
900 Eliminator is it to me.
I am surrounded by HD guys here at work and I take all sorts of crap about my 30 year old rice burner.

But I think its a thing of beauty.
 
Tell the guys with the hardly movin'sons to piss off or try and beat you in a race.

You're right, there no other bike than an Eliminator ZL900. Ofcourse each biker loves his own bike and their right but besides that I found the Eliminator timeless and still maintaining its beauty.

We're riding a cult bike and I believe we can be proud of it as we're not one of the many others but individualists whose ego is found in their Eliminator.

Don't hesitate Eliminate!

Why we ride eliminators. :wink:

On the farm lived a chicken and a horse, both of whom loved to play together. One day, the two were playing when the horse fell into a bog and began to sink. Scared for his life, the horse whinnied for the chicken to go get the farmer for help! Off the chicken ran, back to the farm.

Arriving at the farm, he searched and searched for the farmer, but to no avail, for he had gone to town with the only tractor. Running around, the chicken spied the farmer's new Harley. Finding the keys in the ignition, the chicken sped off with a length of rope hoping he still had time to save his friend's life. Back at the bog, the horse was surprised, but happy, to see the chicken arrive on the shiny Harley, and he managed to get a hold of the loop of rope the chicken tossed to him. After tying the other end to the rear bumper of the farmer's bike, the chicken then drove slowly forward and, with the aid of the powerful bike, rescued the horse!

Happy and proud, the chicken rode the Harley back to the farmhouse, and the farmer was none the wiser when he returned. The friendship between the two animals was cemented: best buddies, best pals.

A few weeks later, the chicken fell into a mud pit, and soon, he too, began to sink and cried out to the horse to save his life! The horse thought a moment, walked over, and straddled the large puddle. Looking underneath, he told the chicken to grab his dick and he would then lift him out of the pit. The chicken got a good grip, and the horse pulled him up and out, saving his life.

The moral of the story?

When you're hung like a horse, you don't need a Harley to pick up chicks.
 
One f my buds at work just bought a Hardly Dangerous, looks real "pretty" with the custom paint, Screaming Eagle motor, custom cut wheels,ect,ect,ect1 It is a '96 low rider. He paid $18,000 for it. I rode with him for a couple hours just playin with my ZL. Finally, when he thinks that he is "all that" I trigger him at the stop light and all he was lookin at was "ELI TAIL"!

You're just out-numbered at work troy, plain n simple.

Personally, I dont like HD's. Dont like the sound, dont like the vibration, dont like the handling, dont like the stereotypical image associated with HD riders. HD has swung so far over to an image thing, guys wanting to convey that they are the "tough biker" at the weekend and put back on their business suit come monday, nah... prefer my eli any day, its a little less pompous and grabs just as much interest for a fraction of the cost of a HD.
 
My neighbor has a custom chopper that belongs to a friend of his, that he is trying to sell. He has the hardest time starting it and it already needs a new starter from the grinding it takes. It also takes him 5 minutes to warm it up to keep it from coughing and sputtering. And if you thought the Eli had a bad seat for the passenger, this thing has none and the passenger sits on the fender. Talk about slipping and sliding around. It does have a nice big fat tire on the back, but $30k for a bar hopper, I don't think so.
 
I love the Eliminators as well. I admire other bikes i like to look at other bikes but Eliminator's words cant explain. Here in Newfoundland where I live there are only a hand full of these bikes, I have only seen 5 more. I go anywhere and people are usually interested in the bike and most have no idea what it is and are really impressed with the bike.The harley boys around this place are pretty good and dont look down on you, but you have your hot shots where ever you go. I found it funny on a ride first when I got her I met up with a few guys on Harleys and my bike was getting more looks then their 20 or 30 G bikes. Trust me I never payed cloce to that for mine. I love the Eliminator.....
P.S.....Please dont tell my Eliminator I look at other bikes and like it :nonono: , she might get mad :blackeye:
 
Same here, 900 is the best, show up at the Quaker Steak and Lube on Wednesday's bike night and most likely its the only one in the lot with 2000 other bikes. Only seen one other 900, a red '85, never met the owner since he/she wasn't around the bike.
 
JUST TOOK MY ZL900 "ELEANOR" TO A LOCAL BIKE NITE LAST NITE ! when i pulled up, the people cleared out of the way, & watched me pull in & park, like they had just seen their first lamborgini !!! i kinda snikered as the harley boys, & the hyabusa boys came to check her out. they all had respect, except for one young punk, that thought his sh.t does'nt stink ( hyabusa rider ) " he said, " wanna run them ? " i did not have to say a word ! an older harley rider said it all ! he said, " BOY, GROW UP ! I USED TO HAVE ONE OF THESE, & THEY ARE NOT MACHINES TO BE TOYED WITH !! YOU MAY GET HIM IN THE LONG RUN !, BUT THIS BIKE WILL SPANK YOUR ASS OFF THE LINE, MAKE YOU CHANGE YOUR OPINION, & EMBARRASS YOU IN FRONT OF YOUR PLAYSCHOOL FRIENDS ! THIS BIKE COMMANDS THE UPMOST RESPECT, & IT HAS MINE !! i just smiled & said thanks !! CHRIS
