Winter projects
Hello all,
Too many projects,.....not enough time, space or money - I know the feeling. I have a 2 car garage and a 10x20 storage unit - both crammed full of stuff - most of it junk.
Winter projects to do (this year):
1. Currently I'm workng on rebuilding a 1996 Yamaha Timberwolf, 4x4, 4 wheeler that I bought for $500. The rear end is shot and the transfer case was busted up. It came with new tires though.
2. I have 3 acres to mow so I have 4 mowers that need belts, blades, oil changes, and some minor welding and repairs.
3. My 85 zl900 needs to be finished off from last years tear down and rebuild. The forks have to come off and have the seals redone. I also had a problem with the bike overheating that I never got a chance to really get fixed, so I have a lower temp fan switch to install next spring. I'm also going to try and find a lower temp thermostat. I still have a timing advancer to install and a few minor things to take care of also - like the oil change, etc.
4. I have many "around the house and garage", small, minor projects to do also.
5. I've been slowly trying to work on the "Eliminator" font on the computer so that it can be used in other graphics programs for T-Shirts, hats, logos, etc., not to mention just being able to use it to type like in email and chat boards.
6. To keep from getting "Eliminator (Biking) Fever" I try to go dirt biking when I can on my KDX 220 - which also needs an oil change and could stand to have the tires flipped around.
7. My 74 Chevy work truck (piece of junk) could use some work but no indoor space and this horrible Indiana weather means it will be put on hold until it completely dies or it gets warm.
8. And for some reason, everyone (family and coworkers mainly) keeps calling me when their computer screws up. I really don't know that much about them. I love playing with that stuff, but it eats up a lot of free time running around, back and forth, troubleshooting, etc.
Working the night shift in a dirty, nasty, hell hole of a steel mill with no heat or air conditioning doesn't help matters any as I don't sleep very well and keep very odd and random hours during the day and week. The job I'm currently on in that place is near a loading door - which is currently broke. So the air, wind, rain and snow come right in the building (the building is nothing more than a big pole barn, 1/8 inch metal walls are all that seperates the outside elements and us inside). On the up side, my job is to run a set of furnaces which run at 2000 degrees each. Although they give off a lot of heat and help with warmth,..... carhartts, toboggans, thermal underwear, etc., are usually the normal attire for this place during the winter months. It's normally about 5-10 degrees warmer on the inside as opposed to outside temps. I had some time off from work during the Thanksgiving day week - got a lot accomplished then. I've got some more time off during the Christmas/New Years holiday week(s) so I'm hoping to get a lot done out in the garage on these projects then.
I'm off and on the computer a lot, especially in the winter - mostly just to check email, try to keep up with reading the Eliminator boards and look for parts. Keeping odd hours though it's usually during hours when no one else is online.
Hitting the lottery sure would solve a lot of problems - free time, space, money. Where have I heard of those things before? HAHAHA.
Stay warm and enjoy the holidays everyone. Later.
