Fuel filter, petcock.

Muzzy Aluminum Fan

Has anybody used one of these? Do they help much? Just wondering my ZL1000 is kind of borderline in town for the summer. Too many stoplights.

The aluminum fan is preferred because the blades aren't as affected by heat & won't deflect near as much, giving you more airflow across your radiator.

I installed an in-line fuel filter but wonder if its causing my bike to starve for fuel. Doesn't do it consistantly but enough to be a PITA. Has anyone done this and if so what filter did you use.

Also, has anyone used a vacuum pump to test their petcock (insert jokes here), but if you did how much vacuum should it take to open the petcock diaphram?

i used an all metal filter from autozone, don't remember what it was for or the part#. The plastic one i had warped shut, couldn't take the heat. As far as vacuum goes I did test mine, I don't have any numbers for ya but I know mine opened easily. Get a rebuild kit from georgefix on Ebay. I did notice an increase in volume after i rebuilt mine. Hope this helps.

Rammy, I have inline filters on all 3 of my Eliminators and have never had a problem in any of them. Make sure that if you have a directional filter that it is in the proper flow direction. Bought mine at advanced auto, clear plastic about 3/8 inch in diameter. Furchin
