ZL600 air valve

Quick question.
There is a valve on my ZL600 which sits above the engine, and is plumbed into the airbox and also into a reed valve on top of the motor. Its referred to as an air valve on kawasaki.com. My question is, what does it do? (emissions I think), is it removable and could it have anything to do with my otherwise healthy bike's total inability to idle?

Yes, it's for the emissions, and yes it can be removed. Check the tips n tricks section, Ethan has a tutorial on removing the emissions on a 900 but I would say that it's the same on the 600.

Don't know if that is why your bike is running as it is, but it's worth a try.
 
The 600 is the same as the 900/1000 in respect to the air valve and its removal. Leaking vacuum lines are a common cause of poor or no idle.

Happy New year everyone! It's really great to see our community grow as it has since released a few short months ago. I've have some great plans for it for the New Year and can't wait to get it rolling :D
