Broken ZL1000 Looking for Aussies with parts

G'day,
I am in the Upper Hunter [near Newcastle] NSW. Australia, and have a badly damaged ZL 1000 living on life support in my shed. Is there anyone out there who is parting one out or has spares for sale or knows of anyone with bits? need things such as full headlight, indicators, tacho, alloy rear struts for seat/pillion pegs, and a host of other parts.. The guy who pranged it couldn't have broken more bits even if he had tried harder.

G'Day Crusty, Welcome to the Club. As I thought there are a Few Aussies on Here. Rocket is in Richmond NSW, Check the Members List.. If you can Come up with a Detailed list of Whats Damaged mabey we can get some Parts Together[ Shiping would Probaly be a Killer Though] You might want to think Aftermarket, Although theres not a Lot Avaliable, and theres Very Few Parts in Common with the 900, Good Luck on Your Quest, Later Rocky :twisted: "Blowing the Froath of a Few at the Moment" :D 8O

:cry: Well folks, as the header says, the bike was beyond repair and has gone to that great spare parts market in the sky. I would like to extend my thanks to all who took an interest in its wellbeing, and to congratulate the owners of bikes on this website for having a first class attitude towards each other in the way you offer help so freely, and so often without any thought of gain.

So what did you do with what was left of it? Just give em to Rocket, as I'm sure he could use anything for his. Don't waste what's left of it!

After the hail storm we experienced at your place all I heard on the radio on the way home was how much the Upper Hunter residents suffered. Smashed windscreens, broken roof tiles, downed trees etc. Apparently the golf balls we saw were nothing like the tennis balls the neighbouring townsfolk saw.

Anyway the bike travelled well in the boot and back seat of my car and I managed to get it all into my double garage along with the Falcon, ZZR250, three pushbikes, tools, benches and other sundries. I’ll be slowly going through the remaining good bits off yours and comparing them with same off mine. All the good bits will be fitted to mine (water bottle and front guard so far) but I don’t think there’ll be much to swap over. That accident was fairly comprehensive and there not much that was unscathed.

As for the few good parts I won’t need, I’ll be cleaning them up and making them available for those of us with the greatest need. Stand by…
 
Nice bike, but 4K?????Mine was real nice and I overpayed at $2500.00, but they were asking $3250.00,Hmmmmmm, go get it Rick!

The tractor looks like an old CASE or Farmall, which we have a Farmall M at the family farm that could use a good coat of paint. I would like to see what he finally gets for the bike because that is almost exactly like mine, except mine is black. But I have the same mileage but I do have a ding on the tank and mismatch brake/clutch lever. I too have new tires with only a few hundred miles on them. I do need a chrome airbox cover since the one I have is cracking and the chrome is peeling off.
 
Looking at that lovely Zl, its exactly like mine also but different. I hope the guy gets 7k+ for it hell I would like to see him get 5 figures for it the more he gets the more ours are worth.
 
There's a good chance that someone researching that bike is looking at this thread :read2:

It's well worth 4k if you ask me. But not a good way to get an auction rolling.
 
A clean black ZL900 went on ebay last week for £500 UK pounds, no reserve. I think it was located somewhere near Southampton. I was watching it closely for a few days but the auction ended on a Sunday and I was out with my family at the very time the auction ended, I completely forgot about it... I was not a happy camper to see it had sold with only one bid at that price.
