Which tire to buy?

I am looking for a great traction tire. I ride normally on the street but i want something that will hook up and launch great. I go to the track twice a month to race. I am looking for the biggest size possible, Maybe 170/80. I have a 97 Eliminator 600 I would rather get the 170 than the 180 so it is a for sure fit with no rubbing. What has everyone had success with? Thanks
 
Avon Venom X has been a popular choice, due to its stickyness, and good looks. Just be careful at the track, as this tire is nylon cored, and will stretch slightly with high speed. Don't try to shove it in there with only 1/4" on each side. I personally like the Metzler 880 myself, as the wear is not comprimised as much.

"I was just wetting my fingers so I could turn the pages in my book."
 
Hell, my would say "that tickles and stop doing it". Oh god, I love Thailand, there is alway one to tellyou that you're a handsom man. :cool10:
 
Thai women only look at your wallet and call you handsom man, I always hide mine and LIE. You can have a great time and cost you next to nothing. :cool10:
