Hi all,

I've recently been watching the motoGP races on TV after a very long absence, as I use to religiously watch them when I was younger and I thought it timely that considering we have two Aussies riders (Oi, Oi, Oi !!!), Casey Stoner (Ducati) and Chris Vermuelen (Rizla Suzuki) as 1 & 2 on the podium last night at Misano, Italy (aired overnight for Australia) and Casey Stoner is way ahead leading the world championship points, I thought I might start up this thread to discuss the races, for those that watched them and to keep tabs amongst ourselves with whats going on with the action in the last race, forthcoming motoGP race events and the overall current race season.

For any information regarding the current motoGP season, you can go to the official motoGP website, here at http://www.motogp.com/.

I, of course follow the Kawasaki Race Team riders Randy De Puniet and Oliver Jacque, but I always love it when aussies are 1 & 2 on the podium, you just gotta love those Ducati's !!!

So, my first question to you guys is, do you think Casey Stoner can beat Valentino Rossi's record of eleven wins in a motoGP season?

Mick.

Hi Mick,

Havent been interested in GP since Schwantz, Doohan and Rainey's time. Have tried to watch more recent GP racing but it hasnt excited me enough to keep the tv tuned in...

God I'd love to have one of the '80's 500cc seasons back again... Schwantz and Doohan bashing fairings as they try to out do each other to the next corner... awesome racing... That action seems to be missing from GP now...

...yeah, gotta sorta agree with you there blag, but I've heard similar stories from when Barry Sheen used to race, and about the "TT at the Isle of Man", so each to their own, I suppose.

I always used to reliously watch the GP races back in the eighties, from just before they took the Australian Motorcycle GP from Phillip Island and took it to Eastern Creek in Sydney, man those were the days, I use to live between Eastern Creek and Oran Park (two great motor raceways in Sydney), and on weekends I used to swing in sidecar outfits at Oran Park and Eastern Creek in called then '70's "Post-Classic" races with a Suzuki "Waterbottle" in a home-made outfit, that was loads of fun, it sure beats sitting in front of the tele watching it.

Mick.
