Don't know if you have a similar system in the US but if not maybe you could get it up and running with your emergency services.
The popularity of this scheme is immense and was distributed through everyone posting it on all the forums that they visit. Its gone round the UK in a matter of days.


Following the disaster in London . . .

East Anglian Ambulance Service have launched a national "In case of Emergency ( ICE ) " campaign with the support of Falklands war hero Simon Weston (he is a former Welsh Guardsman who was horribly burned by the attack on the Sir Galahad)

The idea is that you store the word " I C E " in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency". In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.

It's so simple that everyone can do it. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. For more than one contact name ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc.

The bastards need to pay. Brits need to get mad. Don't take this the wrong way but most Brits need to stop acting like British and the whole "stiff upper lip" old chap kind of thing and get Pissed Off.

The "ICE" is a good Idea for any time it should be that easy here in the US. But using it because we think there will be another terrorist attack is just downright wrong headed thinking.

Lets take the war to these cowards. Let our boys in Uniform go after them and throw away the Politically Correct gloves. Get mean.

I am a Vet and I say let them fight these animals like the rats they are, Trap them and shoot them down. But that is just my opinion.

But seriously, where do we start and when do we stop :?: Somehow I don’t think we’ll see any flags of surrender in this one, and to be honest with ourselves, if we can’t imagine seeing a flag of surrender than how can we imagine winning :?: These terrorists don't belong to a rebel state where a conventional war can be fought within borders; they are among us all, even here in Oz. They have no ultimate leader who has control of them all, hell even the Israelis and Palestinians can’t control their own. The terrorists are not game to walk around in a uniform with terror medals on their chests or “I’m a Terrorist” tattooed on their foreheads. They have no boundaries and certainly no respect for humanity, even their own kind/religion. I don't believe revenge will serve any purpose other then to make us (the targets) feel better by letting off steam. I also don't think getting mad will change their minds about us and they're not the type to run and hide 'cause they've upset the westerners. No, they already hide and they are still committing these acts without fear. I'm sure these lost souls would get some great satisfaction in seeing several western states getting all tied up in knots over sweet revenge.

I truly believe our eyes and ears are our best Defence and when we find these mongrels we subject them to the very same justice system we hold so dear (and throw away the keys when we lock 'em up). It’s our civilized manner in which we deal with these fools which sets us apart from them. While the Poms have a 'stiff upper lip' persona, if anyone can counter these pricks they can, remember the IRA weren't exactly handing out fairy floss at the local playgrounds in the UK (and the Poms have been learning from that little squabble over generations). I suspect good education of their young is the key to a successful conclusion to this conflict. Take away the brainwashing and give their young a reasonable outlook on life and in the future they’ll be less likely to follow any extremists who gives them something to occupy their minds.

What I find annoying is politicians’ who get on their soap boxes and beat their chests by stating “we will prevail”. Now what on earth does “we will prevail” mean, do we out number them? Ask the families of the terrorist’s victims who prevailed and I’m sure they’ll show evidence on a grave stone as to who prevailed. Another favourite phrase of theirs is "we will not tolerate terrorists". Well I'm sorry, while it's good to reassure the general public with such rhetoric, I’m afraid no politician is in a position to make such a claim. After all we (the innocent in the west, east and the Middle East) have been tolerating terrorism for centuries and without some honest sole searching for real solutions we will continue to do so, no matter how much we object or how many bombs we throw at sovereign states in the name of anti-terrorism. Remember Lockerby, they were saying the same things then about not tolerating terrorism and yet we’re still having to endure the same crap today. The Taliban in Afghanistan do not tolerate religions other than fundamental Islam, but guess what, we (the non Muslims) are still here. Knee jerking politicians will do us all more harm than good and the root cause of mankind’s problems today run a little deeper than “he started it”.

Now, enough of the rant, back to bikes. As for 'ICE', very cool, did it on Monday. And it is not just for victims of terrorism, but for any and all emergencies. In any case I hope I'll never need it, for if I do it'll mean the bike will be in a bit of a mess I'm sure.

Was not saying about thinking about. It just seems "ICE" came along because of what happened in London. I said it WAS a good idea, it has been needed since we had cell-phones.

And Rocket, there is an end when we show these terrorists that the games and worrying about what the world thinks is OVER. Hit them where they live. Just wish Pres. Bush would say casually when Syria comes up in some press conference, "Syria, well they seem to have a problem with letting killers over their borders. We will soon remedy that. Syria's next."

Just like Reagan doing a mike check saying, "The bombing starts in five minutes."

Get the politicians out of the Military and let the Military hammer the enemy. As to countries or "rebel states" take out the leaders and keep taking them out until the next in line decides they want to stay and clean up their houses.

No games no more. No mercy. Execute them the same way they do the hostages. Heads off with dull knives. Sink to their level? Yes time to do so.
 
Hey all havnt had much time to get on with work and gettin my new truck running and everything. well getting you all posted, wuputt ran by an 82 suzuki GS 550L for 350 dollars and said the only thing it needed was a rear tire and it had a problem he could ride it all day long and it would run great but then he would shut it off and it wouldnt start again. well i picked it up and found out it only had 6000 original miles on it its never been laid down and is in really good shape for the age. we cleaned the carbs and gas tank changed plugs and oil. and she started right up havnt had a problem with it since untill now. im getting gas in the oil im lost what it could be but when im riding and the bike is warmed up the idle rides up to about 2000 rpms and it normaly idles at 1000 rpm when i shut it off it wont start up agin and it seems like its flooding but im not sure also when i tap the throttle it pops almost like a backfire but not sure what the deal is if anyone has any ideas please let me know what ya think... there is a picture of the bike in wuputts album if interested i just got my tire from ups today too its the irc wild flare same as wuputts just trying to figure out how to get it on the easiest not very good at figuring this stuff out but let me know what you guys think thanks alot

There is no easy answer, you gotta pull the carbs back off and install new float needles! That bike sat for a long time and the seats are hard and won't seat up like they should! I sent you pics of MachIV's 900. Save your money, come here for Vintage days and take home a ZL900! :puttside:
 
I had a similar problem once, turned out to be the vent hose for the tank was pinched shut, pressurizing the tank, causing the gas to drip and get forced into the oil via the valve-guide/s. But I would also agree with the other fellas, check the float as well.
 
Hey Krayz1, I did (I'm pretty damn certain) blow out the vent when I had the tank off. I know that the float seats had a ring on them from not being used for so long. Unfortunately for putput, a set of carbs for the suzi just sold on ebay for $90!
Look at it this way Shawn, (putput) this is how you gain experience at working on your bike, if you pull those carbs yourself, you will keep that knowledge for life! Same with the rear tire, you have seen me mount enough tires to be able to get it done!

ok thanks guys yeah you too wuputt im going down to get started on that tire now work sent me home nothing to do in that damn factory again makes me not want to see that next check coming to me its gonna hurt... Thats life i guess!!!!!
 
There is a product that I use in the heating industry called Gease-Off that I always use on my carbs to clean them, works great. Soak for a day or two then wash and rinse, but you all know how the sludge can mess up the float valves and idle jets.
Do the carbs have the rubber float needle ends? If so they may be dry from age as well and not seating. The most common cause of carb drip is the wonderful GACK that gathers in the carbs over time aside from wear and tear. If so it would be just a basic rebuild, no? I'm only trying to help here so if my burnt out brain makes a mistake don't beat me up over it. I'm sure it's an easy fix but it sounds like it could be a basic rebuild is needed. in this case. Is there any gas in the oil?
 
well guys i got the new tire on looks sweet i also changed the oil and oil filter, did smell like there was gas in the oil but im not sure how its supposed to smell if it would smell at all like fuel or not the first time it happened there was gas in it for sure the oil was like water but it was not as bad this time. wasnt as liquidy and did not seem as bad gas wise in the oil. took it up to the gas station ran great the idle does still raise up to about 2k rpm. when i got home i poped the gas cap off and there was not any pressure buildup in the tank so im guessing the gas breather line is not plugged but i will still check it. any more clues please feel free to let me know not sure why idle gets so high after i ride for about 15 min. thanks
 
NOT ENOUGH!! I know you can get at lest $1000 for that bike!

KK, the float jets are the rubber tipped type, they did have rings on em when I cleaned the carbs out but didn't have the time or parts to replace em at the time. My boyz had to head back to Minnesota. I am pretty sure that is what the prob is.
