Bought a National Cycle Street Shield EX to use on my 1000. Went with something a little smaller than the one I had on previously which was homemade. This one provides next to no wind protection. Has too much of a curve to it - hard to adjust to looking through it - the curve in it acts almost like a magnifying glass - kind of messes with your sight as you are looking at the road - especially at lower speeds. The upper mounts are pretty good, but the lower mounts are pretty cheesy - it's just a hose clamp and a piece of plastic that wraps around the lower rod - I can see that piece of plastic either weathering and breaking or just getting wore out pretty easy if you take the windshield off and on much. Later.
Looks good.
I had one on my Nighthawk. I cut it down about 4 inches. Which was nose level for me. First I made a temp-let in the contour of the shield around 4 inches lower. Then I taped it off front & back at the point of the cutting area. Next I drew a line with a sharpy. Then cut it with a fine blade on low to medium speed with my jig saw. I came in from both ends & met in the middle so that it would not break/chip. Next I used a fine rat-tile file to shape it. It came out looking factory. It took me about 2 hours. Most of it was spent using the file. About a year & a half later it saved me & my wife. We was riding home as it was getting dark on I 4 coming from Daytona. A 18 wheeler blew a tire & a chunk of rubber hit the windshield splitting it in two.
