1. Guest,
We need good tech writers that are willing to help out here at ZL-OA. If you like taking photos of jobs as you perform the steps on your repairs, have historical ads/documents from old magazines, or any else you think belongs in the Technical Library than you might be able to help. Send a private message to Furchin, Mudrunner88, Chris, Jarney, Wuputt, or Markus56 and we can lead you in the right direction to get started.

Well , I didn't think I would do it but I fell in love with this bike, did a great deal of research and ended up getting a great year end deal. She is parked next to the ZL900 & Valkyrie.... I only got in 200 miles on it before it got too cold, it's a blast to ride.. Wishing everyone a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Back at 'ya and congrats on the purchase. Is that the engine that's in the new retro bike Z900rs?

Actually the RS was derived from the Z900. Mine is rated at 126hp the RS was detuned slightly I think it is 111 hp or so and they added fins to the cylinder heads for the retro look, analogue guages, led lights and radial front calipers and raised the price over $2,000 more over the Z900. I like the retro but since I have the Z900 didn't want another retro bike. Gotta tell you, this thing is quick & light, only 460 wet with fuel and very nimble. Just wishing for warm weather. Best to you & your family

Yeah, I thought so. Wonder why they felt the need to detune the engine......seems stupid to me! If I got one of the new rs bikes, I'd have to figure out a way to put those ponys back in there!!! I've always been a big fan of the original Z1's and I think they've done a good job on the new bike.

I'm hope to get the same bike one day.
How the sitting arrangement ,,and is it comfortable. On some sportier bikes I hate how I feels like I have to break my neck to look forward if you know what I mean.

Looks like the bars are placed for a comfy riding position to me. Legs aren't all squashed up to boot.

:hello: They are set up sort of like the 2004 ZRX 1200R. Not like the fetal position of the new crotch rockets. :laughing7:.

It's not bad , I'm 5'7" and I have a little reach but I'm not leaning far, very agile & light bike, like my feet under me. I've only ridden it 200 miles but I felt good on it, did 50 miles with no aches

Hey Mark, I got the factory staimless steel radiator grill for Christmas, possibly some engine guard /sliders, larger front wind scoopen and possibly the tail tidy which removes the long tail section and moves the license plate in but retains factory signals, no pics yet, she's sleeping but I hope to get it out soon, unfortunately it has been recalled for a possible suspension issue, not a big deal, I think the only 2 incidents of issues were over seas and the bikes looked like they were used for motocross lol!

:hello: Nice. :notworthy:. Make sure that you post up pics of your with all the new add ons. Last Bike Week Daytona I sat on a Z 900 at the KAW tent. At 5'3" I couldn't touch the ground as is with most other new bikes.

Two sayings my Dad had. Keep your friends close & your enemies closer. I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
