Hi everyone,
I'm new here. I found this site after hours of searching for parts !

I rode a ZL 750 about eight years ago and have wanted one ever since,
well now I have one, the only problem is its in bits.

I'm trying to find parts in the UK, so far as i can see I need an exhaust system and the large oil seal from the final drive unit that the rear wheel sits into.

does any one know of a good parts supplier in the UK ?

Also do gpz bits fit ? I belive the engines are basically the same, will I be able to cobble on a gpz exhaust, will the downpipes fit ?

I have a 1988 ZL 750 which is an import ( dont know where from though) I think possibly american as vin starts zl750a which another site suggests is such and 750b is uk ? I've looked at all the usual parts sites but most dont even list the 750 at all !

if any one can point me in the right direction for parts i would be very grateful.

Cheers

Ollieman

Welcome ollieman!

Glad you finally found us! Blagadan will shed some light on the parts for you. I'm not sure but i think the zl900/zl750 share alot of parts. I do know the gpz exhaust will not fit. What do you need for exhaust?

Hi zl Mark,
Unfortunately I need the complete exhaust, I dont mind doing a bit of chopping and welding if needed but will need downpipes and collector at least.

I did see somwhere that you can get a Marshall deeptone for it but it was rather vague as to which model it was for ! However its good to know that 900 parts may fit as they seem more readily available.

theres probably a lot more bits i'll need as at the moment i have an engine in a frame with five bin bags and one briefcase of bits ! I'll try and post a photo later to give you all a laugh. I did however get it almost free ! all I have to do is get somones 750 shadow through an mot, how hard can that be ........... (it dosent look that bad really )

Thanks

WELCOME OLLIEMAN! :D i'm sure we'll be able to help you find parts for your zl . may take some time though ! CHRIS :cool10:

Come UK boys, crawl out of bed and help this guy.

Sorry lowlife, I've been asleep today, working nights. In work at the moment.

Welcome to the site ollieman. Whereabouts in the UK are you?

I'm not sure if the 900 pipes will fit, engine might be a slightly different size. I know the carbs are the same size for the 750 and the 900, but not too sure about the pipes. The 750 and the 900 are basically identical, apart from the speedo and the engine size. All the bodywork is the same for both.

As far as I'm aware, the GPZ pipes will NOT fit. The frame runs in front of the outer pipes, so they have to bend as soon as they come out of the engine.

Blag might be able to help you with the 750 as well, he's got one over in Ireland.

Hi Ollieman and welcome,
don't think the exhaust will fit from a GPZ - as ACP says, the pipes take a wicked bend straight away !
Lots of othe parts will be interchangeable - engine particularly - I think.

Have you tried

www.buykawasaki.com

its the USA website and has parts diagrams and numbers for most models.
Will keep an eye out for 750 bits for you.

Thanks guys, your help is much appreciated.
I,ve had a good sortout of the bits and seem to have everything ( barring the pipes) and more besides ! theres a smattering of honda parts in there too. :)
i,m in sunny margate by the way (south coast uk) the last eliminator i saw around here was the one i rode 7-8 years ago !

thanks again
