Hi Guys,

I'm trying to find the Kawasaki OEM Part Number for the "Kawasaki" chrome name plate / brake line splitter cover in between the front forks on my ZL1000, nothing is wrong with mine, it's in perfect condition, but I can't find a part description in my Zedder program to get the part number and for some reason I can't get into the parts diagram section in Kawasaki .com (U.S) to find out, the link keeps sending me back to the main homepage.

Can anyone help?

The Kawasaki site was malfunctioning for me as well. www.powersportspro.com has online fiche, but they only show a 5-digit part number (44033, Cover-Fork). I usually see 9-digit numbers.

complete part number is as follows: 44033-1175 the item is called fork cover. It is no longer available from Kawasaki as I have tried several times to buy one. I lucked out and Andy (Monkeyhanger) served one up to me.

Thanks Yossarian & Furchin, I knew someone here would come through for me!!!

I'm logging all the hard to find spare part numbers of parts I think I may need to replace in the future, (like if I drop the bike, etc) and I'm searching eBay and elsewhere for the stuff, so I can have my own private stash of NOS or second-hand OEM parts at home.

Yeah, I know you've been looking for one for your bike, wuputt, but I haven't had any success finding any here or o/s. I recently made a cover to go over the brake line junction out of 3mm aluminium sheet (an old road sign) to fix my tool roll to and to stop it from bouncing around too much, as I didn't want to break the original plastic one.

I'd say it wouldn't be too hard to make one to look similar to the original, out of aluminium sheet or even maybe solid billet, maybe get the "Kawasaki" name engraved in it with a CNC machine, it would look as good, if not better than the original and it would be stronger too.

Ive been looking at other models to see if there is one like it. I think my '81 kz1k had a chrome one but not sure. Keep me posted on what you find out there. Mine has a crack and I epoxied, that plus I have repainted it a couple times. I just want a new one!!

Funny you should post this, I was looking into the same thing last night. The one I have is pretty worn, not broken just all the chrome is off. Was also looking at samples from other bikes on eBay, appears this is another ZL1K only, like our beloved horn covers. Anybody ever try one of the "chrome" paints out there for restoring something like this???
