Recomended oil viscosity

I just buy a zl400 (currently i am doing carb maintenance-cleaning), and i want to know the factory recommended engine oil viscosity to use.

SAE 10W40 is the correct oil for the 400. (but not in the carbs )

I run and really like Synthetic Rotella T 5w-40 sold at Wallmart , for about $4.40 per qt.

If this is good enough for Dale Walker, it's good enough for me!!

Ditto on the wuputt thingy. Have run it in all my 4 stroke bikes Just make sure it is NOT energy conserving. This means it has friction modifiers. Bad for the clutch.
