Myrtle Beach Bike Week

Does anyone plan on going to Myrtle Beach Bike Week (5/13 - 5/22)? I'm going for the whole week.
 
That must have been some rough tequila,.. or two, or three
 
Can't make that one...I'll be in 'Deal's Gap' N.C. the 11th thru the 15th for the annual two-stroke meet. If anyone's in that area drop in. I have a 750 H2 dragracer, which I'm not taking ...oh yea...I'm taking my Suzuki 7/11 to ride. The 600 and 900 Eliminators are staying at home, they tell me the road is rather twisty and the Gixer is better for that.


Hope to see some Eliminators there...if anyone is going, look for the 'Connorsracing' trailor...I'll be in it....with lotza CDN beer!! :)

MY friends and I are planning to spend some time arround Ashville in the middle of June and then Deals's Gap in August for the Anuall V-MAX get togeather. I grew up arround the rocky mountains, so I head for the "hills" as often as I can. What year is your GSXR 7/11?
 
It's an '88 750 roller...I got for a grand, with a blown up motor. I put my '86 1052, (1107) race motor in it. The 1100 ran 9:20's in a lay down frame. It's still fast (no air-shift, header etc) and scares the you know what out of me on the street.

I wanted a 'sleeper' to whoop on the squids...and I got it!! :D

Yep, that's what I'm talking about... I'll bet she's a lot of fun! I had a red & white '89 750, but sold it years ago. To this day I kick myself for ever selling it!! There's something about those old air/oil cooled GSXR's that turn me on, (if you know what I mean :twisted: ). I've been flirting with the idea of getting one and want to find an '88 - '90 with the exposed front headlights. It probably won't be untill next year or so though. Then I'll have my boulivard "ball-buster" and a canion carver for the mountains, not that the Eli' can't hold her own.
 
Hi guys, this is my first post and I just wanted to say hi. I have a feeling that I'm going to need a lot of help with my latest project. This weekend I'm picking up an '85 ZL900 that is in mid-restoration (it is in boxes). The previous owner striped it down to the frame, had the frame, tank and body work repainted and lost interest in the project. Now I have the task of bringing this beast back to life. Is there a Clymers or Haynes manual that has been published for the Eliminator, or any other manual that would be helpful with torques, limits and such??? Thanks for a great forum and I look forward to getting to know people around here real well.
 
i have factory manual on cd.
thing somebody said u can download for free from somewhere.
i can burn u a copy i think. if nothing else.

welcome aboard bro ! i'm not too sure about CLYMERS, i do not have one. the factory service manual has some info. but not enough ! the best thing i can tell for the moment is, ask us questions as they come up in your resto. we are all good guys, & with all the knowledge of our zl's at least one or more of us will be able to help you out ! i'm still learning new things everyday about my zl900, that i never knew, & i'm learning it all by the members of zloa. Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to this project. I just finished a GS500 and I learned a great deal, but I cannot wait to get started on the ZL900. I'll try to keep everyone updated as to how things are going and drop an occational question every now and again.

The bike is being dropped off this Saturday, I'll take some pics and post them so you have an idea of the task at hand. As for shorthands, call me what you will, I'm pretty open that way :D
 
Very nice platform! Good luck with the project. The only down side is that you can't ride it yet!!! UGGHH!
