Here are some pics of my mufflers that I had re-chromed at a local plater here in Houston. I had they guy blast the inside end of the baffles so I could paint them with a high temp flat black paint. The cost was 125.00 per muffler and I was very pleased with the way they came out.
I also included a before pic (first pic) of one of the mufflers with battery acid stains that were on the bike when i bought it.

Re: Mufflers Re-Chromed

There was no discusion about mixing chemicals, his only concern was particles getting hung up in the baffles since they cant be removed. When I got my mufflers back there were only a couple of tiny particles that rolled out the end when i turned it over and shook it.

Re: Mufflers Re-Chromed

Got a call from Craig (owner of the chrome shop) yesterday so I'll pass along the information. After looking at them, he said the charge would be $150.00 per muffler and then shipping would be on top of that. He'll polish the end caps to where they'll be smooth and pretty too for $50.00 per side if you prefer not to paint them back black but I'll be painting mine so I expect they'll be @ $350.00 when all is said and done. I'm so looking forward to getting them back and scrutinizing 'em close. We'll see what they look like @ the first of the month........Stay Tuned!!!

Re: Mufflers Re-Chromed

Got my mufflers back yesterday from the chrome shop in Houston and man, are these awesome. Can't seem to get a pic that's not full of glare cause they're so shiny but you can believe they're a 10 out of 10. The end caps have to be painted back with the black heat paint or you can pay extra and he'll make them a mirror finish like the rest of it but I'm going back with the black cap. These are much deeper and smoother chrome than what they came from the factory with.....just truly awesome! The price was $335.00 shipped back to my door and were packed excellent.
