Harriminator, Cool site! Howzit goin? Finally got a gasket set coming in next month from England for my bike and some other stuff too. Been getting friends to bring them when they come to beat customs. Sorry about the confusion a few months ago.

Winter

Harriminator, fortunately, I don't have the winter downtime but the parts are still the problem. Talked to some other guys here about getting parts and they had problems with customs fees. I have been avoiding this with the help of friends. Next month I'm also getting some "quality" tools in that will help.

seat covers

i personally have not used this company but have heard good reports about their covers. Remember someone is CALIFORNIA that had his ZL seat done with their product and was real happy. Furchin
 
I don't know what their covers cost, but I got my seat re-upholstered for $100.00, and that was with carbon fiber look vinyl on top and heavy duty snowmobile vinyl on the sides with double stitched seams all around, I could have had it done much cheaper, but I wanted the right materials...

I have a local Amish guy that will do it for less, and probably better material but I don't have a stock cover for him to copy. I figured that since these guys copy the stock cover it will look more original.
 
Huh....Got me there....Unless a pic will help, I can take a series of them if you want and post 'em or, e-mail 'em to you, I went with stock seams on mine, with the upgraded material, so if you need that, let me know...

Yes I could SS, however my seat is not stock, I want it to look stock.

Nothing personal, and I am a staunch believer in stock, I bought my seat front and rear for like 35 bucks,.... since you say you dont have a stock cover now, recover it, change the seam.. the stock seams are the worst looking part of the bike.... redo yours...... save a few pennies. keep an eye out for a stock seat replacement just my opinion,
 
just had my seat done, probably not to everyones taste but i think it looks smart. just got to tidy up the strap ends.
