KK, that sucks. But these things change. Keep dreaming of a brighter, and warmer, day.

Surely you're not gunna let -1 to +4 degree celcius stop you from dion' what love best (2nd best)? A couple of heated grips and you'll be amazed at how compfortable a ride can almost be 8), makes you feel alive it does and if you come off you probably won't feel a thing :wink: :wink: :wink:

Naaa not me mate..............I ride every day no matter what the weather........Have to get to work somehow and the wife nicks the cage every day.
I ride a GTR1000 for a commuter, lovely big fairing, lovely heated grips combined with handlebar muffs...........warm as toast but still prefer a sunny day though.

When I posted that link, we had nearly a foot of snow up here. If you click on that link now it gives you the next 5 days forecast so it actually looks better now than when I posted it.

Hey KK, Would love to Ride Year Round, But :D Roads around here tend to be a "A TAD BIT TRICKY" in the Winter Months, and a TAD bit tricky in Spiing, Summer and Fall too 8O Much Easier in the CAGE, Later Rocky :twisted:

Hey KK, I try to Avoid the Following, LARGE Farm Equipment[ and I do mean LARGE] Large Potholes[Not as large as the Farm Equipment ] Large SUV's Driven by Mom on the Cell Phone with 15 Soccer Brats in the Back, Large Caddys Driven by Old Farts in there 80's who seem to think its OK to do 30 MPH UNDER the Speed Limit in the Fast Lane, Large Grain Fed Deer who seem to think Your Idea of Laying on the Horn is for them to Play "DODGE BIKE" Stupid Cage Drivers that think Directional Signals and The Headlight Dimmer Switch are Some Kind of an Expensive Option in their Vehicles, The List Goes on, They make it Real hard on us Two Wheelers, I'm sure Some one else can Add to the List, Please Do so I know what to Look out For, Later Rocky, Oh the Bike Will be for Sale "When they Pry my Cold Dead Hand's off the Bars" 8O :twisted:
 
I used to ride about everyday unless there was ice or snow on the road. Had a Yamaha 650 twin that I road the crap out of. Would like to get back into that mode with gas at $2.60 a gallon but don't want to put that kind of wear and tear on the '85 900. Like to find a nice ZXR1220R for a daily riders. Anyone like this bike?
 
It dosent seem like a big job but I was wondering if doing the timing is hard on these bikes. Mine will need to be done she is startin to rattle a lil on startup.

:yeahthat: I replace my timing chain and still had an awful noise, turns out the alt chain was backlashing and hitting the clutch basket. As far as chainging the timiming chain be sure and pay real close attention to where your cams and crank are located and don't move them until you have your new chain is in place. there are marks on the cams and crank sprocket to give you a point of reference. I was doing other service and rotated the crank a few times and then had to figure out if I was on the compression stroke or exhaust stroke. If I remember wright the crank turns twice to every single turn of the cams. Other than that it is pretty stright forward repair. Hope this helps, Im on valume for back pain so some one please correct me if Im wrong here. It took me about fifteen minutes to wright this and I am heading for the bed now
