Oh well, I'm 45min late, and yes, congrats to you your little helpers and to the rest of the team you have collected here thus far. If only the Oz ZL's/riders weren't spread out all over this bloody island/continent, I look forward to long rides but ten hrs to see just one

I was wondering how popular a bolt on street turbo kit for the 85-86 ZL900 would be. Ive devoloped and made kits for other bikes, and am thinking of doing the same for my ZL. "Put some of today's tech with one of the baddest old-schools ever made.

I like the idea of a Turbo on an Eli :dancingfool:
I think someone on KERA did it a few years ago - but not sure of the results.
Keep us posted - my 1K is probably going the big bore route using ZLRX's idea - ZZR11 barrels etc, but a good turbo would really make her fly

I believe the guy who did the nos on his Eli at KERA was Ethan. Shortly after getting it going, if I remember right, he had a nasty crash. Before KERA started having "trouble" with the spammers and Ethan took a little leave, the last I heard was the bike was still in his kitchen in pieces. I'm not real sure about all of that but it's what I seem to remember - granted, I've got the memeory of a tree stump, so take it all with a grain of salt - hahaha. Later.

Good subject. There is an old article from 87 cycle world called "Takin it to the nines" with a zl900 sportin a turbo. I will have this article as soon as i buy the whole lot from mcreports.com.

Someone on the ZRX site was makiing em for the ZRXs
and I believe they were around $2,100,which is very reasonable.
Only prob I see is the rad which sits a little low,prolly need to go w/a
ZRX rad to make some room,it`s the same size plus two extra rows
but it`s mounted horizontal rather than vert like the ZL.

I love the idea of a turbo for my ZL, but it depends on the cost. I would never hear the end of it if I got one that cost a couple of grand, that's more than I paid for the bike.
