Ohio Meet

Hey guys, I belong to venturerider.org we just had a meet/maintenance day here in Oberlin, Ohio. What a great time! How many of you would be willing to travel to Akron, Ohio for a meet at my place? I know we are few and far between. But there is at least a handful of us here in Ohio and many more in neighboring states. Whatya think?

Hey Bro.
Willing to ride up at the drop of a hat! Only prob I have is too friggen busy with work! I am only 45 min. south of ya.
You need to plan to be at Mid Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days. Last year we had I think 6 owners here but only 3 bikes, hope to see at least double that this year, heck, maybe Rocky will bring his!

yes i plan on being there, i gotta see the zl1200r, hope he's there as well

HEY GUYS, just thought i would let you know that mom is home from the hospital ! she has alot of probloms though ! the doctor has stopped the internal bleeding, but he said, if she goes back to heavy drinking, the bleeding will start again ! dad (Marty) & i, want to thank all of you for your prayers & support !

i regret to inform you, that mom went rite back to heavy drinking ! so, i guess she does not care enough about herself. time will tell !!!

thanks again ! for the prayers & support ! CHRIS & MARTY

Glad to hear she is home. Sad to hear she can't control her drinking. Talk her into getting help. I'll say some prayers!

I know how you feel Chris; I come from a family of alcoholics. I lost my father from it and refused to lose my mother to the same. Chris, it took me almost 18 months with my mother, she was 62 years old and I had to hold here down on the floor for hours at a time to keep her from going out or getting to the bottle. As she screamed and kick, I cried. Don’t ever give up, I didn’t and it was worth it all. It has been about six years now and mom is doing great. I will pray for your strength.

Went down the drugs and alcohol road for a long time. "Never give up" Its a long hard battle but well worth it, My wife sometimes wears the hat of CD councelor (professionally) among others, If you need any advise don't be afraid to ask. We both came from the "tough love" program and have decades of being "straight" behind us. No wise cracks about "being straight" for only decades.!!

Chris, good luck with your mother! Tough love may be the only answer. It is very important that you take care of yourself also. You should pop in on an Alanon meeting, I have known some members over the years and I KNOW that they can help you!
Still thinking of your family bro

Chris - you've got a real job on mate ! Any addiction is difficult to break, but it can be done!
Support your Mom all you can, but also look after yourself and your dad.
Good luck and God Bless,
Vin
