Valve adjustment zl900

I've got the valve cover off to change the spark plug hole gaskets, and was wondering if somebody could give me a rundown on the steps to check and adjust the valves before i put the valve cover back on. Thanks.

i have to be careful though, i actually hang out with John Force once in a great while ! i met John several years back at norwalk, we hung out & had lunch at his trailer. i did meet Ashley then, but have'nt seen her in years. last time i met up with John, Ashley was no where to be found ! i have'nt talked to John in a few years now .
